The Hobbit: Enjoyable, even if the constant skirmishes got tiresome. I found the Gollum Versus Baggins battle-of-wits scene the most impressive and arresting.

I watched WB's 2010 Clash of the Titans with my sister in anticipation of next year's God of War movie. It's hard for me to keep it calm because WB is taking so long to start production on the third and final film in the "Titans" trilogy from WB and it's got me antsy. They're also taking a long time to start producing the 300 prequel movie.

If you enjoyed Clash (I did), you'll love Wrath of the Titans. I actually prefer it to the first film.

    Expendables 2
Some of the absolute hokiest dialogue ever. But oh so fun. Exploding heads and cheese, done just right. Better than the first and I look forward to the next one with even more 80s action stars rumored/attached. You know what you are gonna get going in and it delivers upon that promise.

Dark knight rises: Absolutely amazing, pure brilliant, easily amongst the greatest.

Might have to check it out then, I hated the first one so much I had no wish to see two. I thought the first one was meant to be some crazy, over-the-top action movie...like the 2008 Rambo movie (which I really liked), what I saw with Expendables was a movie that felt like it was shot as a PG-13 movie with way to much talk about one of their girlfriends.

I really enjoyed Clash of the Titans, it's got some nice action and the way everything looks is pretty nice and good. But, I thought it's whole subtext was fascinating, I mean, it's this big $100+ million picture, and it cops out on this around the very end...but the movie is strangely atheist, militantly so. Sure it's about the Greek gods, but Hades and Zeus clearly are far more like Satan and God than the Greek gods they're meant to be. I remember a tiny bit of controversy about The Golden Compass, but Clash of the Titans didn't get any...and it about a guy who wants to kill God.

I finally watched A Christmas Story for the first time. It was pretty good.

The reason I'd never seen it before is that every time someone actually describes the movie, it sounds more cruel than funny. There's the part about the kid getting his tongue frozen to the flag pole, which just sounds more painful than funny. And then there's the repeated statement of "you'll shoot your eye out". There's an old statement about story writing that says that if you introduce an idea, you have to act on the idea before the end of act 3. So, since people play up that statement, I figured someone's eye was naturally going to get shot out. Needless to say, I just figured it was one of those movies that went for very dark humor. But it wasn't. And the really funny parts are hard to describe like the fantasy sequences in Ralphie's head. So, I have this to say to everyone who reccomends this movie to anyone: don't describe it, just tell them they have to watch it. Be like "you'll get it once you watch it".

Profoundo Rosso. After watching this over a dozen times in the past, I finally understand and love this film. It was neat to have the light finally go off. And I no longer loathe Daria Nicolodi in this too.

    Complete win.

May have to watch again this weekend after I revisit a few more Argento films.
Wake me up when it's over...
