Surrogates
Not bad. A lot of great ideas in this movie, except for one major flaw. In a society where technology has advanced so far to make surrogates, they haven't made improvements in plastic surgery to fix the relatively small scar on his wife? Yeah, I know. Suspend disbelief and you'll have a good time. Love the shot when all the surrogates fall down in the street. Worth it for that scene alone.
Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs
This was hilarious fun. Poor Sony, who makes just as good films (if not better) as Dreamworks and Disney but can't match the market saturation and advertising power. A real gem. Very witty with nary a pop culture gag in sight. Most of the humour comes from playing with stereotypes. Like turning the traditional ugly duckling story on its head, and 'A la mode' is translated the same everywhere in the world except England where they voiceover the American weather girl with their own British accented 'everything is covered with ice cream'... Really clever film.

Dear John
I went to see this as I currently have a major crush on Channing Tatum. He was much better in this than in GI Joe. It's obviously a film for teenage & twenty something girls. Your protoypical Boy meets girls, boy looses girl, boy gets girl back. It was slow and a bit cheesy. But there were some interesting character bits in it. Amanda Syfried is great, watching her I thought that she would have been perfect for the part of Danaerys in the upcoming HBO Game of Thrones series. The romance, as far fetched as it was, was believable due to the chemistry between Tatum and Syfried.

Planet Hulk
Good. Surprisingly emotional. The voice acting was excellent.
More of an "inspired by" Planet Hulk than a straight adaptation. The characters and planet elements are the same but the story is very different, which is probably for the best because if they'd tried to squeeze Greg Pak's epic into 80 minutes it most likely would have been unsatisfying. If you watch it, I recommend forgetting all about the comic and just watch the story that the movie crafts with no preconception or expectation.
In the bonus features they included the opening sequence for Thor: Tales of Asgard. It is a flat-out awesome scene (make sure you wait for it...they play the trailer first). Really looking forward to watching it when it's released.
Ghost Rider
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
The Hangover
Decent enough but I've seen a lot better stuff.

8/10
looking forward to the sequel. Shame it wasn't entered for the Oscars.
Julie and Julia
I didn't have high hopes for this even though I love both main actresses but I was pleasantly surprised. The Julie half was likable enough but the Julia Child parts were very entertaining and Merryl Streep was indeed great.
It was no masterpiece but it was a perfectly enjoyable bit of fluff.

The Taking of Pelham 123. (The Original w/ Walter Matthau)
So much better than the 2009 version.
The Boys From Brazil. Great 70's Thriller.
The Devil and Daniel Webster. A good black and white, one of my favorites.
