    In the Line of Fire

Felt like watching a Eastwood film, haven't seen this one in awhile, soooo it got elected.

    Outlander

Turn your mind off and enjoy some genre-mashing with an alien teaming with vikings in the 8th century AD to take down a pretty awesome 'dragon'.

Rewatched 12 Monkeys. Now, onto the overly long period of 24 episodes before my next movie.

    Choke

While its not as good as Palinuik's novel, it was entertaining but not great.
Sam Rockwell is a great actor working with a sub-par script but pulls it off nicely.

    An Education

Very wonderful, indeed. Carey Mulligan is one hell of a find and the supporting cast is pretty damn great as well. And, sure enough, the script by Nick Hornby is terrific, making for one hell of a coming of age story.

    (500) Days of Summer

I wanted to like this more, but as creative as it is, it's still just another movie about love. And dear God, this had horrible voice-over narration. The movie would bring an idea to mind, and seconds later some loser with a deep voice would repeat that idea. Incredibly obvious and distracting.

    Super Mario Brothers

So fucking bad that I want to see it again. Laughed numerous times at the imagery, script, and acting.

    Mean Streets

I was disappointed with this film. Scorsese had a knack for song selection early on, and some of the scenes are rather inspired, but the script is boring, unintelligent garbage. Robert De Niro and Harvey Keitel are entertaining, but neither performance impressed me beyond a superficial level. I should have never bought this thinking I would see a classic.

Two things struck me about this movie:

    1. The abundance of dark humor.

    2. The almost total lack of exposition. You really have to keep up, or Park Chan-wook will leave you behind.

see now i would have guessed that it was a bad movie because of the cast. the story itself doesn't sound horrible. but i pretty much knew that it wasn't for me when i saw the trailer. and it was because of that actress who plays the dead girl and wahlberg. the latter seemed jarringly out of place. and there something goofy about the former.

I liked the movie, but I definitely agree about the unnecessary narration, that's one of my biggest movie pet peeves. (The other is flashbacks to scenes earlier in the film, as if you can't remember an hour ago.)

    Up In The Air

Very good and Clooney was indeed subtly excellent in it. I would say that it isn't as good as Juno and it was something of a step down after An Education but it was still an exceptionally solid, entertaining piece of work.
