Nah, i've never understood the love for this armor ~ i think almost everything thats come since, from the Silver Centurion onward have been large improvements (even Layton's post-Centurion/Armor Wars classic redux was far better IMHO.) it just doesn't look like 'armor' to me. never has.

I'm sad to see the Extremis look going now, which is by far the best looking IM armor.

Also, technically it kind of is still around: Tony rocked it in the big Mandarin arc in Iron Man: Director of SHIELD, during Secret Invasion and during World's Most Wanted.

i honest-to-gosh think this is far and away the best superhero costume design ever created. It's just so striking, sleek, simple and perfect ~ and i've rarely seen an artist draw it poorly, unlike the classic Red n' Blues.

Doesn't Namor still bust this out often as not? (i think this is what he was wearing in the Cabal one shot and isn't his X-men costume a variation on this?

I thought John Byrne's redesign of Vision did indeed make him look more "spectral and unearthly"


I was also sort of fond of Joe Madureira's Crossing revamp of Black Widow

I'll agree with the black Spidey suit. Just a fantastic design. I wish we saw more of Arachne, since it was hers first and she tends to fill it out better.

I'll also second the white Vision look. While I can understand that a lot of people didn't like what Byrne did to the character's personality, I think the costume change was great. I really have never been the biggest fan of the green and red look (though the new look he got during Harras's run from the Anti-Vision was a good improvement).

I miss Quasar's costume that he wore at the end of his solo series. All of the updates since Annihilation have just been too much for me. I wish he'd go back to his classic look.

That was a good one. I was shocked they went back to his Christmas tree look.

And totally not in a good way. For Sue Richards, superheroine and mommy, that is one ugly outfit. I can't tell you how glad I am it disappeared.

I really miss Wolverine's Brown Suit (does that read weird to anyone else?). It's the only one I'd choose. I'd amalgamate it with the modern sleeked back head-piece that he has rather than those wing-things that spread out side-ways. I think it gives him a much more predatory look like that.

Anyone a dab hand with photo-shop? 'Amalgamate a characters costume' would be a decent thread.

I'd do it myself but, alas, i'm skill-less.
