They need to at least put his powers back at the Age of Apocalypse level where he they were on par with Apocalypse's. His not Cable..he's not supposed to have limits. That was the whole damn point of X-Man. He was raw power unchecked and possibly the last great hope for mutantkind.

No, that would make him, genetically, their child, just not conceived the old fashioned way.

A clone is a genetic COPY of an existing person. By virtue of using the DNA of two separate beings to create an entirely new being who never existed before* disqualifies him as being a clone.

*Now an argument can be made that, in a round about way, he's a clone of Cable, but not really. Rather, alternate yet genetically identical genes of his "donor parents" were combined to bring about another version of him. The 616 Scott and a clone of Jean Grey (Madeline Pryor) did the horizontal polka and we get Cable. For Nate: The genes of the AoA Scott, which is genetically identical to the 616 Cyclops, was combined with the genes of the AoA Jean Grey, which is genetically identical to the 616 Jean Grey (and by virtue of Madeline Pryor being Jean's clone, identical to hers as well) and we get Nate Grey.

It's ridiculous that Nate's and Cable's genetics would be any more identical than any two full siblings. Sinister may have controlled which genes Nate would get from each parent, but he had no control over which of 616 Scott's sperm would fertilize which of 616 Madelyne's eggs at the moment of Cable's conception.
