Think of the situation like this. Imagine being in a coma for several years after a bus crash. Then you wake up and your asked what's the last thing you remember? And you say... Doing my homework on the school bus. Then your promptly told well your 26 years old now and you have have a 13 year old daugther... Mazel Tov! A revelation like that is a shock for anyone. Jean's initial reaction to Rachel calling her mom is a logical human response. Time Travel notwithstanding.





Ironically, Emma in a similar fashion experienced a similuar ordeal (another facet of Jean that Emma now possesses) after she woke up and found out she was raped and had 1001 clone daugthers. The only difference between the two instances is that Emma didn't care and just ran with it... Then jumped in bed with Scott.

I wasn't insulting Jean by how she dealt with it. My point was that ExodusCloak was closer to right than wrong.

Emma was already in bed with Scott. And she did seem to care. And that story sucked. haha

I wonder why Marvel's having the Phoenix possess Emma Frost?
It's not doing the character any favors and last time it possessed her she couldn't handle its power, I wonder what's changed since then. Or Marvel just forgot the story. Maybe they think it'll make Emma look "cool"? But I really don't see that happening since that isn't Emma's style.

Emma is all icy and cold, she is diamond , she is ice...the phoenix is fire and passion...it doesn't work together...who is writing that crap!

I wonder if that cover with her burning Hawkeye is a bit more significant. Emma being in diamond form could actually be a plot point. They used her diamond form to contain things before, and that's how she "died" in the Wolverine and the X-Men cartoon. Plus, that's how the cuckoos held the Phoenix pieces. I'm thinking that may be one of the reasons she ends up with it, like for some reason it either rejects Hope or the Avengers do something and in order to contain the power , as the only telepath there she takes it and turns to diamond. I think that if they go that route it could make a little sense....

so they probably won't use that idea at all.

According to the preview cover of Avengers Academy #33, which shows that Emma will come for the school’s Sentinel, the phoenix force looks like (at least temporarily) under her control.
