Seriously, I haven't been keeping up with Daken very closely. Any thoughts as to whether he is worth catching up on before Collision? I know he took over Madripoor or whatever, anything other than that unfamiliar readers should know?
likewise, I'm only picking up Daken for Collision.

The reason for this is that there hasn't been really anything of note happening to Laura. Except of course for her series, which gets its' own thread.

My favorite claw girls, together. This was posted over in the Penance Appreciation thread and I thought I'd share. :) Still hoping they'll be written together in the books sometime. It'd be interesting to compare and contrast 'em.

Thank you for sharing that! I love when Urusov draws Laura.

Hehe, you're welcome. :D Mimic had it commissioned, I'm pretty sure. ^_^ That's usually the case when he posts such sketches. ^.^

Daken stories tend to consist of everyone else becoming ridiculously stupid and bending over backwards because Daken is "so awesomebbqsauce" while he's trying to bone everything in sight.

    Some news:

    - Phil Noto will pencil few issues that will take place in New York
    - X-23 #7 & X-23 #8 sales went up in March compared to February which is a good sign for the future ( right now it looks like cancelation line is around 16-17k comics and X-23 is selling in ~27-28k levels). Both issues beat Daken issues in March.

I hope X-23's ongoing will at least get to #25

And that is an awesome cover.

Well not many people on this forum thought that X-23 would reach #12, but it will in July and Marjorie Liu said that she is already starting work on second year so Marvel must be happy if they gave her a green light

I really want a Wolverine/Gambit Dad off where they compete for Laura's affections. Wolverine will take her to the funfair while Gambit cooks her a healthy dinner.

If they had to cast X-23 for a movie right this second, I'd be okay with Nina Dobrev.

She's a little too old if they're going for comic canoness, where she would start out as 13. But for a 16-17 yr old Laura, she's perfect

Kewl; well, they could always have some other actress play the younger Laura.

Jodelle Ferland ...she's gotta be 13 by now, right?

Does this mean Laura has two daddies?

    I demand fanart.

I was one of them. Given Lui's writing style and her work in Daken and the X23 one shot. I certainly thought that the book would sink like a stone after the first arc. But it actually has gotten better. I really am enjoyed #7 & 8 very much. She seems to be more focused on the action adventure than the psychobabble. Further Liu understands that Laura is a powerful young woman and is writing her as such.
