They're both at fault. Yes Liu cut them off but at least she showed Dust coming to X-23's defense when Surge was being a jerk to her. Gage actually had her say that she didn't consider any of them to be her friends.

When did I say I was surprised? That was never my complaint. My complaint was that they just had it happen without explanation or even a hint of why it happened which is just bad writing.

People grow apart. I can think of people in my own life that, at some point in the past, I would've considered friends, but now don't. It's not saying what happened before didn't happen/matter, but that things have changed.

Yes but that's very strange for something X-23 to say when 1. She's extreemely loyal to those she loves and 2. If it hasn't been shown that her relationship with NXM has dis-intergrated in any of the books.

I hope they don't forget that X-23 is trained to use a lot more than just her claws. Also, they probably should have had someone else play possum while X-23 attacked Big Zero so she could go for a killing blow.

Sad News about seeing X-23 (and the rest of her "classmates") within the AVENGERS ACADEMY Series; as Writer CHRISTOS GAGE (via his Twitter Page) has revealed that Issue #39 is the Series Finale.

Unlikely, as X-Teens are on a real back burner and it was mentioned at SDCC that 'big things' were on her horizon.

If Chris Yost does write X-23 again then I hope he doesn't get held back by anything. When he's written her in the past, especially during X-Force, he sets up a lot of interesting ideas but didn't seem to get the time to really explore them. Like how he sets up interesting relationships between X-23 and Elixir, Domino, and Hope, but they kind of just disappear.
