It's even more pathetic that the first thing he'd do upon resurfacing is to point figures when someone he failed to pay had a child in the hospital. Olney never fails to reach new lows.

Gail,
I think you need to recommend Rick a barber:

Coined around 1944. Extremely relevant and commonplace with today's fandom.GAFIA (along with derived form such as gafiate and gafiation) is a term used in science fiction fandom. It began as an acronym for "Getting Away From It All", and initially referred to escaping from the mundane world via fanac. However, its meaning was soon reversed, and thereafter it referred to getting away from fandom and fannish doings. When fans say they're gafiating, it means they intend to put some distance between themselves and fandom. This can be either a temporary or a long-term separation.
And as for cancer . . .
I took no extra time off from work for my surgeries. I managed to have my schedule arranged out so I had two days off in a row: one for the operation, one for recovery. No-one watched the Things for me except for the day I was in hospital; no-one cooked meals; no-one did laundry, cleaned house, ran for groceries. Fuck, I was doing the next morning and changing sheets two days after.
More importantly, all my hospital bills are paid in full and I never missed a utility payment.
Yet another in a series of convenient excuses.

Didn't the last guy that had that kinda haircut, trample over and persecute people (and worse). This other person too had a holier than thou attitude and used religion (either Norse or Christian) to justify what they did.
To that earlier question, no Dennis is not a friend of his any more.
"Cancer is no man's friend."
Please tell me that Rick is not implying that cancer kept him off the internet.
I want to hold on to some sliver of a belief that that man would not sink so low that he would hide behind a false claim of cancer.
Please Rick.
Just don't.
I don't know how that guy finds new depths.
He just does.
Someone tell me I'm misunderstanding this or reading it wrong.
And to think I believed the lowest thing on earth was whale shit.
Then RO came along.
OzBat!
Now with 150% more SNARK!
I promise that I understand your respect and toleration of my positions does not imply you agree with me. If you promise that my respect and toleration of your positions does not imply you have open season on mine.

"Then we die gloriously!"

Eventually, everyone, even a spineless loser like Dennis, gives up on Rick.
You trust him, he uses you. That's all he knows how to do.
Even Dennis would get tired of being a footstool forever.
But I have no sympathy whatsoever for Dennis Kinninger. That guy
KNEW Rick cheated people, he admitted it, and he chose to mock and
insult the people victimized by Rick. Dennis HELPED Rick even knowing full
well people had been cheated in the past and even after all these
allegations came through from reputable sources, Dennis still planned
to work together with Rick on new comics projects (wow...two incredibly
untalented wannabes with a complete deadbeat running things--how
did THAT plan not succeed?).
AND he told Rick he would stand by him and testify if necessary.
Testify to what? This guy KNEW PEOPLE WERE BEING CHEATED, even
though he did his best to stick his pasty head in the sand. For two guys
who claim to love comics, they sure went out of their way to do as much
damage as possible to as many creators, retailers and readers as
humanly possible.
Black Canary owns your world.
I do find the entire Dennis thing funny. I suppose where Rick managed to pull off so much , Dennis felt ...hey he will produce comics and we'll both walk into the industry at some point. But as months turned to years and the heat not going away anytime soon on Rick and people making damn sure he'd never get himself in , Dennis realized having Rick as a pal was hurting him.
Its just a sad situation really. I understand how you wanna stick by your friends. How you wanna defend them and take up for em. But at a certain point you as their friend have to call em on the bullshit they do. The bad things they do to others honestly.
