After seeing Avengers I wanted to read a bit more about some of the characters, non-comics reading that is. So I picked up Captain America and the Struggle of the Superhero and popped it on my iPad.

For fiction I picked up Black Wings of Cthulhu, a fairly awesome looking anthology edited by S.T. Joshi.

I almost got Divine Comedy, but it was only volume 1 of 3, so I decided to hold out for a complete set.

Just finished reading REAMDE, by Neal Stephenson. The first doorstop book I've finished since my son was born 4 years ago. Great book, highly recommended.

The flame of Islam, by Harold Lamb, 1931 hardcover edition. For less than a brand new paperback!

Picked up a copy of Jerry Robinson: Ambassador of Comics by N.C. Christopher Couch for $8. Looking forward to reading it when it gets here.

Bought a 15$ mystery book by Christine Brouillette and apparently left it in the shopping cart. I am extremely angry at myself right now.

The Ghost in love - Jonathan Carroll - the only book by Carroll I've not got round to reading as yet
Lords of the Starship - Mark S Geston - one of those science fiction writers very few people remember but I love the premise of this book in particular , and when you consider it cost a grand total of £0.01 plus £2.80 P&P from Amazon , i couldn't resist
Nothing to see here folks, go home

The Long Earth by Terry Pratchett and Stephen Baxter, a new science fiction novel about humanity discovering a seemingly infinite series of uninhabited, easily reachable parallel Earths.

An e-ARC of Lois Bujold's newest Vorkosigan novel, Captain Vorpatril's Alliance. The "real" version isn't out until November, but another one of Baen's excellent e-book policies is making advance reading copies available for purchase.
