its pretty intense on the behind the scenes in big private-owned business. it also could be seen as a look at the kind of individuals who shaped modern America. Although it does have kind of rosy-tinted view of them. Nowadays big business are all corporate, greedy pigs IMO (without meaning to generalise too much) but i like to think as i read this that once they were decent human beings who felt they had a duty to future history.

its kind of an intense, weighty tome but its the kind of thing i was looking for.

i just finished The Girl With The Dragoon Tattoo last night and i have to say, even though i knew what was going to happen in the story it still was a great read.
just finished the second book, The Girl Who Played With Fire, and just started The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets Nest.

they where both great and i can't wait to see what happens in the 3rd book.

if you haven't read these book than please do, even if you've seen the movie.

Sacré Bleu by Christopher Moore. It's an art-themed comic murder mystery set in France in the late 19th century.

So do I, although I'm a bit burned out on the vampire books. I'm glad to see him going in a different direction.

Coincidentally, the vampire books are by far my least favorite. I suspect they sell quite well though, so it's hard to begrudge him the income.

Darth Plagueis by James Luceno. So far I'm really liking it. The EU has it's ups and downs, but I can easily envision this one becoming one of the top tier SW books ala "I, Jedi" or The Thrawn Trilogy.

Yeah, you will not regret it. I'm not a big fantasy or sword'n'sorcery guy, but I've torn through these books since picking up A Game of Thrones the first week of March. I have about 120 pages left in A Feast of Crows with A Dance with Dragons being delivered from Amazon tomorrow. Just a fascinating world of political intrigue with the magic creeping in around the margins. A Song of Ice and Fire is like crack in that you're just going to be craving more.
