Firstly, they will better be able to co-ordinate our combined efforts due to their greater knowledge of the battleground and participants, and secondly because their resources will be crucial in unfurling the layers of mystery which surround this outbreak."

With that, he determinedly set off as quickly as he possibly could in pursuit of the Chief Warden.

Sadly though, as quick as possible for the Mysterious Mister Beadle is not particularly quick at all, and what should have been a desperate sprint was in fact only a brisk walk.
Activating the second level of his Aura of Light, he follows after the wardens at Mach 30. Still vastly slower, he imagines, but he'll get there in due time.

Watching Sub-Zero disappear in a blur, Sol followed slowly, keeping pace with Mister Beadle.

"Well, you don't seem to be in much of a hurry. At this rate..." he trailed off as he noticed Mister Beadle's expression of focus and determination.

"Er...if I didn't know better, I'd say you were trying to move as quickly as you can, without actually running." He gave Beadle a quizzical look.

    Goddammit!

While he seemed slightly damaged, Sorez had managed to deflect the greatest part of the Buster shot. FrenchGemini quickly jumped backwards before Sorez could touch him. He watched his positioning... The alignment was right. The GemSaber was returning to him, as always, and would normally touch Sorez before getting back to his hand. Meanwhile, he realized that his opponent seemed to get a bit tired, not sending a lot of explosive attacks like he did before. So he needed a recharge, the question was, what was it exactly? Then he remembered the way light seemed to bend around Sorez sometimes. Maybe... But, first things come first, and better wait to see what the Saber did to Sorez.

    IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!

Hey team, on Saturday this week, I will be in Japan for ten days and thus will not be available to GM for a while. As such, the game will be on hiatus until my return. I've got a fairly mad week in the run up to leaving; seeing a lot of people in the evenings and have a lot to take care of a work before I leave so I'm not certain I'll be able to up date before then.

Whatever happens between now and the 14th; play will resume on Tuesday 24th April!

((OOC: Okay here we go! Hoping to knock out this prologue and get us going. Proctor Darmunsk awaits!))

FrenchGemini's whirling blade scythed through the air towards Sorez' back, looking to bisect him, but the force of the buster shot had knocked him off his feet. The terrorist tumbled backwards, caught in that moment of a fall where there is no floor or wall to gain purchase on and catch oneself, where all he could do is fall. The Gemsaber impacted into his shoulder and stuck through his body, burying itself up to the hilt.

The mad bomber hit the floor, cursing loudly - the blade sticking out of the front of his body like a third limb. It then warped and tore itself lose once more, heading back to FrenchGemini's hand.

Sorez swore loudly and grabbed at his shoulder.

"You fucker!" he roared, "You absolute bastard!"

This was bad, normally by now there would be enough ambient energy in the air from a conflict that he could pull it in and supercharge his healing systems. No time, no time at all.

He went to stand and fight once more when abruptly his hand was pinned to the floor but a small but ridiculously strong foot. The young man looked up a little way into the singular eye of Chief Warden Dolphin. The pint-sized lady was pointing a finger at his left eye in a manner not unlike a child holding an imaginary gun. Even in his wounded state, Sorez could feel the massive energy lurking behind the tiny digit.

"It's a fair cop," he said quietly.

"You're a good lad, Xlo," Smash replied, "I don't want to have to hurt you too much. Plus, you look pretty worn out. Make it easy on yourself, eh?"

For a moment a furious energy built inside Sorez, like a bomb about to explode. The air around him vibrated and warped with raw heat as his fury at being caught caused his energy to spike once more. Smash did not react beyond the tip of her finger began to glow.

"You can't die yet," she said quietly, "What about your cause? Freedom for Fedron, right?"

Sorez seemed to be about to rise and then slumped, defeated.

"I will get out of here," he said, his voiced tinged with tears, "My planet needs me and I will save it from the forces of oppression,"

Gunner stepped forward and produced a set of cuffs. He secured them and a high pitched hum suggested the activation of a power-dampener on Sorez. The giant diamond man then pressed his chest mounted badge and called for a drone squad to secure the prisoner. They then spotted the broken and critical form of Jilt Maple who was nearby.

"I don't appreciate you being so... keen with your self-defence," Smash said to the assembled Knights, "Though I can imagine how Maple would drive you to this,"

Gunner likewise moved and secured her with bonds and called her capture in.

"In any case," Smash said, "That leave Stheno of the main players in this and quite frankly, I don't think he's worth your time. Gunner and I should be able to handle him, your priority is getting to Darmunsk and finding out exactly what's going on there. There's a maintenance tunnel not far from here that should lead you into the maximum security wing quite directly, it should be mostly free of obstructions and, as long as we distract him enough, Stheno shouldn't sense you heading in. I'll give you the clearance code to enter,"

She turned to Mister Beadle, who had arrived shortly before her statement.

"It seems we must part good sir, but I would gladly take you up on that drink before you leave my planet," she said, winking roguishly at him, "Do any of you have questions before we part ways?"

Mcgaffer watched Sorez being taken into custody and quickly became invisible, it was his automatic reaction to being around authority. "Sorry pal, I know that feeling" Mcgaffer thought as he continued to watch. He bent and retrieved a stone then threw it so that it rattled against the wall close to Switch. He moved in the opposite direction when people turned and gave Sorez a consoling pat on the shoulder as he passed. Maintenance tunnels! Always seem an easy option, always a catch. Still not anything I'm not used to.
Good God man! Why are you slapping a monkey.

Mcgaffer could not help but notice that Chief Warden Dolphin did not take her eye of him despite his invisibility. For whatever reason, it was pretty clear she could tell where he was. As he patted Sorez on the shoulder, she smiled slightly, almost as to if to say that she was glad that someone had taken pity on the poor boy.

Sub-Zero watches Sorez and Maple get taken into custody. That should have went better than it did. That's the last time he lets Mcgaffer come up with plans on the fly. At any rate, those are two pains in his ass that he won't have to deal with anymore.

"Marm," replied the Mysterious Mister Beadle, responding to her wink with a mischievous-but-nonetheless-mysterious smile of his own, "I would consider it to be an honour and a privilege to share that drink with you. I shall count the moments until we have the opportunity. If events overtake us, and our egress from your planet is somewhat more hastily enforced; either by urgency or accident; please rest assured that I shall return as soon as I am able to avail myself of your..... hospitality."

The Mysterious Mister Beadle then bowed his head graciously toward the Chief Warden, still maintaining her gaze, turned briefly toward Sub-Warden Gunner to acknowledge his gratitude for the part the enormous, crystalline, stellar-powered fellow had played in their endeavours thus far, and then looked to his fellow Knights.

"Well, gentlemen," he said, "it appears we are once more reunited. As joyous a moment as this should be, I fear we have little time to savour it. Our next objective is clear. The miscreant known as Darmunsk. Let us away."

As Sol kept pace with Mister Beadle throughout the journey, which turned out to be longer than he had anticipated, they arrived at the scene of the battle after the battle was already over. In fact, he arrived just in time to hear the Chief Warden make some remarks regarding the current state of affairs and plans for the immediate future.

Well, the Saber did the job just fine apparently. Shame I won't be able to test my theory on Sorez though. FrenchGemini thought while looking at the newcomers and removing the blood on his favourite weapon.

"I don't appreciate you being so... keen with your self-defence," Smash said to the assembled Knights, "Though I can imagine how Maple would drive you to this,"
Guess she could. After all, she worked here, but he didn't see what she meant by "so keen with your self defence". French is just... yeah "keen with his self defence", but he is built to be a fighter, if there is a fight, he won't give gentle caresses.

Anyway, now they had to see a guy named Darmunsk. The one known as Sol asked:

"This is more of an generic question than a query but...do you have any advice regarding Darmunsk, especially on how to locate and deal with him?"
"Yeah, what he said. Also, for those who came in late, who is this guy?"

Smash looked at French sideways before rolling her eye slightly.

"I'll leave to you to catch your associates up with what's going on," she said, not sounding too impressed, "All our instrumentation indicates that Proctor Darmunsk is still in his cell at the very bottom of the maximum security wing or at least in the near vicinity of it. The maintenance tunnel will take you to the main shaft down and it should be fairly smooth going from there. Very few prisoners should be hanging around in there and all the doors are open,"

    She rubbed her chin slightly.

"As for how to deal with him..." she tapped the datapad she wore on her wrist and pulled his file, it was quite similar to the one the Knights had seen back in Khazan, "His telepathy, while potent should still be locked down by the inhibitors he was given on arrival - the nanobots normally perpetuate the process but they will be down right now - but they basic power dampening virus that he was infected with when he got here will stay active in his system for around 72 hours before failing. Other than that, he's a normal man. He should present no threat to you,"

She paused, looking at the energy readings that were still emanating from the depths of the maximum security wing.

"That said," she said slowly, "Whatever he's doing in there isn't normal. I can only advise caution. Beyond that, Darmunsk is new to us, I haven't got a measure of him yet though I would advise against letting him talk to you. From the way he conducted himself in his trial he was shown to be very clever, quite charming and extremely ruthless. While I'm sure you're clear in your purpose... I would be careful how his words may sway you,"

There was a large and somewhat pointed bolt of lightning.

"Anything else? I think Stheno is calling to us,"

As the group moved to leave, Smash threw a neat salute.

"Sol, Mister Beadle; it has been a pleasure to work with the Knights once more. Do give my regards to Sharpandpointies and we shall certainly have that drink later - all of us - in celebration of a riot contained,"

With these words, she and Gunner leapt away, heading for the far northern sector where the lightning was originating.

The Knights turned and headed towards the tunnel indicated on a small map display on Sol's gauntlets as a light snow began to fall. Bereft of the heat of Sorez's presence and explosions, the prison felt much colder and grew more so as they headed northwards. Upon approaching the small door and inputting the code, a very small tunnel lined with pipes, power cables as thick as trees and relays and nodes of all types was revealed. It was just large enough for the largest of Knights to walk down but it was tight fight. There was a small amount of lighting but the the gloom and darkness swiftly ate up the meagre output of these basic bulbs.

As far as they could see, the tunnel continued into the planet at a fairly sharp angle downwards until it was obscured in the cloying darkness. It was cold and damp and looked quite uninvited.

However, it was the fastest way to their target and time was, as ever, of the essence.
