I'm going to miss Dollhouse. I wasn't really feeling season 1 and thought it took over a half a season to get going, but once the ball started rolling... Oh man! It was amazing. I was hooked to every second of the second season, and the guy who plays Victor just blew my mind over and over. I hope to see more of him in another series.

Default Whedon is too good for network & cable

I'm glad that media is changing, and new opportunities are become available for demonstrating vision and artistry.

Whedon should consider his experiences with Buffy and Firefly and all, to be just preps for something bigger.

I was going to agree with you, but I don't think sci-fi shows get much better than Firefly. It was nearly perfect.

He was probably referring to how poorly Fox treated Firefly, like not showing the pilot, rather than how good a show it was.

I liked Dollhouse at first. But as it went, I just felt it got silly and I stopped watching.

That is kinda the exact opposite of how most viewers felt. Some very ho-hum studio-mandated stand-amone eps, and then the arc stuff kicked into high gear.

'Mm,' she agreed. 'He's a little bit dodgy in the same way that rats are a little bit covered in fur."

I sort of wish Joss didn't do stuff for network TV.

If his shows were on Sci-Fi channel or something, where the ratings didn't need to be quite so high, I think some of his latter shows might have had longer runs.

    Ah well.

I still don't get his reasoning against making a Dollhouse comic. It does feel like it could work well as one, it has the right formula, all it would need is a decent writer.

Then again given the quality of the Buffy and Angel comics, it's probably good that Dollhouse won't get one...

Yeah, I actually didn't like it at first. I don't know, maybe I was sort of expecting something more Buffy-ish.

Heck, I didn't exactly love Firefly at first too, though I VERY quickly grew to.

I was hooked on Buffy (and Angel, though that was already a spin off so it was obviously easy to jump right right in) right away, but I think his other stuff needed to be built up on a bit since he does sort of take a bit of time to really jump into the main story.

Once he's in high gear, Whedon is golden. But he does sort of need time to ramp up to that a bit.

I just caught up on Hulu.com and I'm still not really sure how I feel about the show. Some of the characters are great, others seem really incomplete and not that believable.

I'll catch the final episode, but have not decided wether or not I'll pick it up on DVD.

The girl is hot but the show was barely watchable. I had it on my DVR for when nothing else was on, but when they started piling up I deleted them.

Whedon will have to find some other way into Dushku's pants besides giving her work.

She and the Terminator girl should team up and make Dark Angel II for Syfy or something.
