Well, obviously I'm a little disappointed that Doctor Voodoo is coming to such an abrupt end. I was hoping Marvel might give Voodoo a little more time to develop, certainly more than five issues. Besides the Strange mini-series this was the only book we could go to for the magical side of the Marvel U. The story arc has been pretty hit-and-miss with me but it certainly wasn't bad. It's just a shame because Remender and Palo have put a lot of effort into this book and they certainly have a respect for the character. I just hope Marvel isn't dropping these characters all together and there's a plan for these characters, both Voodoo and Strange. Let's not have to wait until the inevitable "Strange is Sorcerer Supreme Once More!".
    Pull List:
Batman and Robin, The Brave and the Bold, Fantastic Four, Jonah Hex, The Legion of Superheroes, Secret Warriors, SHIELD, Superman, The Unwritten, Wonder Woman

Well at least they are still trying to keep DV in the spotlight and I'm glad that he won't be giving up the title. Still,it's a shame that his series is coming to an end.

Love this book. In Remender I trust that the next issues are gonna be darn awesome. Gonna be picking up the trade to in support. Makes me happy to finally see a Brother Voodoo book on the shelves.

Hope for sure Remender does write Jericho in more stuff. Maybe Punisher now that he's infused in the 616verse?

Well, let's hope that the upcoming project Remender is referring to is a Legion of Monsters team book. Between this and Punisher, it does seem like he and Marvel are taking that path. I'd love to see a kind of JSA through the lens of 70s Marvel horror. Always thought that would be cool.

That would be awesome! Could this include Jericho in a leader type role?

I'm not temed to be jumping from cerribly suprised that this book is being cancelled because I never really felt that Jericho Drumm had really been given enough room to shine as a powerful character in his own right right from the very first issue.

He was virtually battered into near oblivion by Dr Doom in #1 and just seemed to be jumping from crisis to crisis without any clear cut plan of action executed or brought to conclusion.

And the fact that there was a book featuring the former Sorceror Supreme floating around didn't really help matters much.

Does anyone have a breakdown of the number of comics sold?

I'm glad this title is canceled. Why because like I said who really want to buy a book with guy who had a chicken on his head? Doctor Strange is one true sorcerer Supreme despite the fact that Marvel has written him so badly in recent years so just Bendis could have fall from grace. Character deserved better then what has given him in recent years.

Um.. that's Black Talon. Jericho never wore headgear.

That being said, the weaknesses I've discussed in Remender's writing elsewhere are apparent in his comics. Consider what he said about various characters:

Daniel: "He's an important character, and in issue #4 we see him taking on a big role"
Doom: "definitely plays a huge role in the remaining chapters of this story."
Nightmare: "a major threat to the denizens of the MU"
Bondye: "They will definitely play a role in the final act of the story."

The only character who isn't described as having a role in the finale? Doctor Voodoo himself. And yet, they want us to care about him.

(I'm not even sure we'll get a payoff, considering that "residue" comment)

I'll still buy the remaiing issues, and I may even pick up the trade, but I have little confidence in Remender's ability to use the character well.

    Default voodoo canceled!?!?!

Why is Doctor Voodoo ending? Why so abrupt? This is one of my favorite books out there right now, and the only place to find Jefte Palo. DAG!!

Giffen did it. It was called Nick Fury's Howling Commandos, and Jericho was indeed a member.

I'm glad the last issue will leave a lot of doors open for a bigger story that involves the New Avengers. I hope the magic side will gain more attention.
