    Tim Callahan: I'm not sure the "frozen and thawed out to kill for the commies every so often" explanation is any better than the "Superboy Prime punched a wall" stuff,
    It was an actual story that functions as something other than meta-commentary, was roughly in keeping with Captain America's own history, and provided the basis for a consistent characterization.
