Default CBR: Christos Gage's War "Initiative"

Well he'll be writing an Avengers book after Siege and based on his presence at the Avengers summit and Dan Slott's absence could we be seeing a shift at Mighty or maybe he'll be on Dark Avengers?

A Dark Avenger/Thunderbolt team working in the grey area would be a bad thing.

Gage will be writing Avengers Academy with collaborating artist Mike McKone.

I had totally forgotten about that rumor but I hope it's untrue. Avengers Academy is such an unbelievably lame name (hated the Academy X name even though the school setting made more sense in the X-book) and honestly it holds little interest for me, but those two on Mighty or an established title would rock as long as the price is 2.99. I don't buy books at 3.99.

[Taskmaster's] going to be keeping an eye out for opportunities - and he won't be too picky about who he has to stab in the back to save his own skin.
...I really hope this doesn't mean he's going to betray Constrictor, I really do - I love those two being bros.

This interview definitely got me more interested in the Siege tie-in. I like Gage's take on Taskmaster. Should be interesting to see him trying to survive the situation he has gotten himself into. Focusing on Tigra and just is good with me too.

Me to. Not because of the name, but because of Mike McKone. I like Mike's art ok, but all of his characters look the same age. He can't draw young and old characters interacting, where you can distinguish between the two. His Teen Titans run suffered from this.

oh noes, Joe Franklin! why'd you have to throw cold Mckone water on my woody for this upcoming series? that's the dude who did Exiles right? i didn't like that at all. but maybe his style will be more to my liking this time around.

like this is very good work..

I thought Barry Kitson was the artist for Avengers Academy.

However if Task Master finds out Diamondback is a double agent he very well might betray Constrictor, and tell him "Bros before Hoes pal". At least I can see Task Master doing that, whatever the outcome it won't be pleasant at all.

That's precisely what I'm afraid of. I'm hoping if he does find out about it he'll take it as a chance to get away from Osborn by jumping on board the Resistance instead.

Either way, Constrictor and him have a nice friendship, I'd hate to see it ruined.

Well I hope this occurs, I really don't want to flog my ideal line up for this group like a dead horse, but my ideal group line up would include an insect, a snake, (or two hopefully if one dies during Siege, then such as life), a "knight without armor", a sweet bird that sings, a ghost, two former Thunderbolts that are helping said little bird, and subbing if one snake dies off an individual that expresses deep penance for misdeeds. (being cryptic as I can be ) and I don't think a group like this would be a bad thing at all (I collect Thunderbolts as well so I'm a bit biased here)

Taskmaster deserves to be a bigger name.

God, Gage never fails to make me love him.

I'm glad that we'll likely see Diamondback's reaction to Cap's death (and "rebirth") somewhere, since we haven't seen it in the main Captain America book at all. I still think Anaconda belongs in The Initiative. She certainly wouldn't approve of her frenemy Diamondback dating her other frenemy Constrictor, considering the trio's past in the formation of the Serpent Society.
