Default CBR: To The Batcave With Grant Morrison

In the second of a two-part interview, Morrison spoke about "Batman and Robin" and "The Return of Bruce Wayne," how long he plans to stay on "Batman and Robin" and when we'll find out exactly what the hell's going on with Bruce Wayne's skull.

Why is it that Morrison forgets to mention Red Robin, or does he not truly care where Tim ends up when Bruce gets back ?

Also, Why doesn' t Morrison realize that there are still some readers, myself included, that do not like his little creation called Damien included into the Batman mythos ?

I would say he doesn't mention Red Robin first off since it is not the book he is writing, and also going into any detail could spoil things. He is just teasing about the book he is writing and that's it. And I love Damien, he makes a good Robin as Tim moves onward just as Dick did before him.

I enjoyed the interview, a bit said won't get to see Quitely return until late next year, but another 10 issues of Batman and Robin is a good thing!

If Dick & Tim team-up I'd read that book. Although I enjoy Dick as Batman.

Awesome. Quitely will be back (eventually).

So 6 story arcs, 18 issues, 3 trades..?

Morrison does great interviews. I love Damian! I hope he stays around for quite some time. frankly.

It's all a massive tease, really, but I do like that we got some little details on how it's going to go--like the extra connection one could get by reading B&R and Return together.

Here's the thing that really made me go "Hmm..."

... which is basically what causes the problems between him and Damian, to be honest. As soon as he realizes Bruce is still alive, he's expecting things to go back to normal and he's ready for that. It's no big deal for Dick Grayson, but for Damian, this is the most important thing in the world.

Awesome, seems like Bruce will be back on the Cowl, (Was really hating those Batman beyond Ideas fans were throwing around). And I like Damian way more than I ever liked Tim.
...And does Mr. Goddanm Batman says so much as ''Thanks''? OF COURSE not. That'd hardly be GRIM AND GRITTY, would it?

+ The Return of Bruce Wayne (6)
    + Whatever Comes After (?)

At least five trades, though, if you're counting everything post-RIP. So total we'll have:

    - Batman & Son
    - The Black Glove
    - Batman RIP
    - Final Crisis
    - Batman and Robin Vol. 1
    - Batman and Robin Vol. 2
    - Batman and Robin Vol. 3
    - The Return of Bruce Wayne
    - Post-Bruce's Return

    I can't wait for the Omnibus(es).

    Default Damian is cool...

Since I've not been reading comics for a very long time until only recently, I suppose I'm less invested in the previous status quo.

I find that the introduction of new characters and the recent shake-up makes for interesting reading. The repartee and latent conflict between Dick and Damian creates tension in the narrative and better story-telling, IMO. I'm more disappointed that Bruce Wayne is coming back (ditto for Steve Rogers) than I am that he "left".

It is useful to note that even though Amazing Spider-Man readers got their panties all in a twist over "One More Day" and "Brand New Day", in the long run, those shake-ups made for a better book. If you count three issues a month @ ~60,000-65,000 prints per issue, ASM is the best-selling book in the industry.

I say give Damian a chance. He's a twit... but aren't teenagers usually?

So, is he basically saying the Pirate Batman was just concept art but won't actually be in a story? That's too bad.

Libaax: (Grant Morrison) is so fresh, a god of superhero comics and (you should) worship his world of Batman.

I agree on both counts. This was a great interview, and I'm really on the hook for all these stories. Damien is just amazing to me too.

I just hope they squeeze out as much mileage out of Dick as Batman as they can. I wouldn't mind Dick as Batman for all of 2010 and just to have Bruce reclaim the cowl at the end in time for 2011.
