Default CBR: When Words Collide - Dec 21, 2009

The year is coming to a close so it's only appropriate that Tim takes some time this week to talk about "Batman and Robin," "Scalped," "Scott Pilgrim" and other titles as he runs through his choices for the Ten Best Comics of 2009.

    Cool

    Tim!

If Punisher is your ONLY Marvel magazine this year, then Ultimate Spider-Man is mine! It's the ONLY Marvel magazine I really bought every month!

"And since no one else on the internet is bothering to post a list of the Ten Best Comics of 2009, making this Top Ten will clearly mean a lot to everyone involved. "

And wow, look at the date on that post too.

I agree with your list quite a lot, esepcially number one. Batman and Robin was on its way to be my favorite book of the year after #3. Then the next 3 issues came out and I couldn't stand it. Can't wait for the Cameron Stewart issues!

I really need to hop on the Scott Pilgrim train eventually, but I've been saying the same thing about books like Hellboy and Manga forever.

Well, if you wanna pretend like you were being sarcastic the first time too, then that's totally cool man.

So you thought I was serious about no one else doing a Top 10 list?

    I'm sorry.

You know there's also a movie with a title that sounds almost exactly like When Words Collide? The coincidences that surround your work are just crazy.

Tim, you wouldn't happen to related to a Harry Callahan, by any chance? You being the only one with that name, and all.

Wait, there's someone else named Callahan, someone else doing a Top 10 list, and someone else who came up with something called "When WORLDS Collide." That is freaky similar.

Next you'll tell me that someone else has a message board too!

Great list. I really liked Wednesday Comics, Batman and Robin and Scott Pilgrim. And because of last weeks column I started reading Pluto and I love it.

    Well, anything's possible.

And I'll add that I enjoyed your list too, and actually just ordered I Kill Giants on your recommendation.

not to you know... talk about the article...

I liked much of your list, didnt think there was a weak choice in there (though I might argue about AS Bat & Robin).. but I did think that not including Chew was curious.

What were your thoughts on it and why did you not think it stacked up?

Yeah, no, it sounded more like hyperbole than lighthearted sarcasm, so sorry I misinterpreted your original statement.

I mean, people are more focused on making a best of decade list rather than best of year list that I thought you actually were serious.

It was indeed intended as irony.

Chew, I have not read. You should buy it for me for Christmas!
