Default CBR: Miller Draws the Curtain on "KotOR"

CBR News spoke with writer John Jackson Miller and learned that there are still a number of secrets to reveal before the final issue of "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic" is released by Dark Horse Comics in February.

Really? All this "Why's it ending now?" talk without one mention of the fact that BioWare's releasing a new Old Republic game next year?

I always wonder, reading interviews like this, if the interviewer really didn't do his homework or was specifically asked not to ask an obvious question ahead of an announcement.

Knights of the Old Republic ends at #50 so that in a few months they can release The Old Republic #1. Given how coy Renaud is with his last answer, he's probably going to be writing it, too.

    1. Thank you for the interview with Mr. Miller, much appreciated as a huge fan of the series.
    2. Star Wars fans are huge on continuity, probably much more than is healthy for the series to prosper without huge stumbling blocks, and I just wanted to point out that the series takes place around four thousand years BBY not Twenty Five Thousand.

There goes another great book off the shelves while other crap still gets published. :( I'm gonna miss this book as a fan of the Star Wars Movies and espically the KOTR games and the book. This was a real fun title. Even if they do a Old Rublic game it just won't be the same.

If you'd like the question asked, Thad, let me answer it: the release of "The Old Republic" had nothing whatsoever to do with the decision to bring KOTOR to a close. Good enough?

Well, considering KotOR and Legacy are pretty much the only series whose TPB's I buy at release instead of "whenever I get around to it" I'm naturally sad to see it go. Well, at least I have Redemption (and ME2) to look forward to. Speaking of which, I need to finish some more ME1 playthroughs.

I will have to disagree, after giving KOTOR two years+ to wow me, I finally had to drop it when I realized it was like Spawn...nothing important happened in it past the initial storyline!!!

My LCS is hitting hard times due to the economy and I returned/donated the entire run of KOTOR for them to re-sell, I disliked the series so much by the end. Star Wars sells pretty well in the store, so I knew they'd all eventually be sold. At least *someone* got some use out of them!!!

When are we going to be able to to the BS regarding Vector? Despite Miller's strong writing and decent setup, the art was horrible, and subsequently killed most interest in the arc, not to mention KotoR itself. Missed opportunity.

Also, I keep pretty up to date with Star Wars comics. I have not seen anything from Dark Horse stating that The Old Republic will indeed be a print comic. Is this official or still just a rumor?

If you'd stayed a little longer you would have seen some pretty major events. I never really expected the Covenant storyline to be wrapped up *before* the end of the series, but I thought it was handled well.

So far, "Demon" doesn't feel nearly as epic as "Vindication" did, but I'm hoping that changes with the reveal of a Sith connection for the villains.

I'm glad I don't have to resent TOR for ending KOTOR. But I may still have to resent TOR for ripping off Legacy...
