This is pretty standard fair for introducing new characters. I think just about every school based comic has used the good old transfer student shtick.

whatever happened to the albino little girl that was crushing on Shioon? I was hoping that they would have done SOMETHING with that character in the new section. I was also hoping that Saehee (I think that's the name of the girl that was Shioon's ONLY friend for a long time) would get some more page-time.

but this is basically a Korean shonen, right? so that might be asking for too much.

Finally caught up to the new chapters. Got to say I was laughing at how utterly clueless the master guy was when Shioon kept coming back completely healthy despite undergoing insane training.

Remember the special medicine he took way back in chapter 11-12. Thats what happened to his body.

I grasp it has to do with that, but aside from giving him insane healing ability, I wonder how else it will help him.

oh well then I have no idea. Based on genre conventions I would say that now that they know he has super healing powers someone will suddenly remember a super rare healing technique that can restore a destroyed Ki center, but is very dangerous and would mean almost certain death in most people, but because of his super healing powers it just might work. Also this technique may or may not give him a general power-up by surviving it beyond mere restoration. Given he has a fight coming up that he had no business winning based on current skill level, I'm leaning toward yes.

Or the author could surprise us and do something original, it has happened before.

I'd like to see him become a purely physical based fighter since his regen would mean he could train to his body to crazy levels. I doubt that will happen though.

Well, the thing with Sosul not appearing is that she's the real head of the clan, and Shioon is kind of her stand in, because she gave him the medallion. It's because she isn't around that the current storyline can happen.

So I started reading New Waves purely out of random glancing at different titles on Mangareader. Despite not having read the first series I find it really enjoyable, good art, and with interesting characters so far, also easy to pick up on.

I must say I'm loving the new direction they're going with the plot...... I genuinely can't tell what will happen next.

I can't wait for them to show what The Nine Arts Dragon has been up to while all this is going on with his student. Especially with this cult following of his.
