Yup, I'd say the switch has just been flipped.......... it's his first little baby step toward the dark side.


Even some "Like master, like student." foreshadowing.





Side note: I've noticed that heros tend to take things wildly outside of their control and somehow make it primarily their fault.... no matter how crazy it sounds.

I wonder how far the author will allow Shioon to go. He's super motivated right now; has access to Sera's groups research and training; and control of the Sunwoo Clan. He's in a position to majorly shake things up if he wants to. But, he's still a kid, and the protagonists of these types of series tend to be able to keep their hands blood free in the end. So will he actually get to the point of killing or ordering the killing of someone (unlikely), or will he get just to the brink of darkness and be snatched back somehow by one of the females around him, or will he hurt someone he's close to and snap to his senses.

I'm guessing something like this, the ladies have a certain soft spot in his heart..... they could bring him back from just about anything.



But I agree..... I don't think he'll go straight up Darth Vader on us.

It does. Allow me to expand on my brief point.

When I first read The Breaker, it was on the weekly basis as it came out and I felt like the plot was a lot... longer, temporally I mean, than I had previously thought. Reading it in a more condensed timeframe made it flow much better and I realised that story does happen a lot faster than I thought.

The development of Goomoonryong and Shioon is believable and the parallels between their relationship and that of Goomoonryong and his master. It feels a little simple but it works very nicely and the world of Murim feels appropriately large and detailed without actually telling us all that much. The artwork remains absolutely stunning, some of the choreography and framing of the panels is just wonderful. I'm much on intrigued by New Waves and exactly what the Black Forest Group is for and what Goomoonryong has been up to.

Yeah, it's good stuff.

Unknown, but I suspect he is a red herring and in fact nows nothing about SUC, though its possible he is being duped into helping them. Also the new character they just introduced just screams "I'm the new bad guy" So he is probably heavily involved in SUC.

Agreed. I really disliked him at first, but I admire his loyalty and overwhelming power. I pray the fight with Kwon and the new guy doesn't go any further because I'd hate for Kwon to be upstaged.

Elder Kwon is a beast. Once again he demonstrates the gap between guys like him and Nine Arts (arguably top dog) compared to everyone else.

I wonder if Shioon will be able to fend off this guy or if someone else will save him. Honestly Shioon is the only chance they have of getting out of this alive since he wouldn't give the order to slaughter them.
