That doom piece was shown in a recent exhibition i believe

Namor is NOT the Villain Protagonist of the Illuminati.
T'challa does NOT believe Namor betrayed him to Doom -- that's never been said or implied. And it was Phoenix Namor who flooded Wakanda. And considering the circumstances, any of the Illuminati can work with just about anyone.
It wasn't strange, it was simply badly written and made all the characters look bad. There's absolutely no fictional reason that Namor would even have told T'challa about the Cabal.
I hadn't heard any thing like that -- I thought it said outright the meeting was in Latveria?
That anti-travel poster is awesome! Though I think I'd have gone with something a bit more subtle, text wise, than 'DO NOT visit Latveria.' Maybe, "Visit beautiful and scenic Latveria. Littering punishable by death."
On the DAVID MICHELINIE front ....
I was horrified to learn that not so long ago, Marvel greenlit a sequel to EMPEROR DOOM, and he turned in a plot, but through what sounds like editorial ... waffling (I'm being kind), the project fell to the wayside! This was in the panel and I didn't get a chance to get more info, but I will try to do so tomorrow. However, if you see any editors at a con, be sure to ask about this sequel and it's fate. We've got to let them know that we WANT to see it. Ditto on the Clooney VICTOR VON DOOM mini-series. I'm hoping Michelinie's Iron Man Armor Wars II is selling well, so they'll get him back to do the sequel to EMPEROR DOOM. I think it would be great for their new OGN series.
Plot wise, he said it takes place shortly afterwards and was about someone abused in EMPEROR DOOM who returns for revenge against Doom. I will see if can worm any more details out him tomorrow at his table, as I didn't get a chance to go by there today.
Michelinie also said he considered Doom as Iron Man's arch nemesis -- that they shared a lot in common.![]()
I wouldn't say he'd be able to work with Doom easily... but I'm sure he will be able to do it.
Theoretically, I am assuming he's angrier with Namor than he was at Doom since he's stating he's going to kill Namor. Like you mentioned, he let off Doom comparatively easily. Not saying he won't have issues with Doom of course... but if he's willing to work with Namor then Doom should be just as believable. In theory.
The rest of course likely might disagree. Except Namor.
Reed should be interesting, since him and Doom were on the same team recently. So he's obviously willing to work with Doom if the universe is at stake.
Good grief....yet another dropped Doom project. I think I may pop over to Tom B.s Formspring about this one day...LOL Not that it would accomplish much.
So lets see we have of the cancelled or dropped Doom stores
- The Victor von Doom mini series by Becky Cloonan and Nick Spencer (with a most completed scripts and covers done)
- Brubaker's plans to follow up on the dangling plot from his Captain America where the Red Skull gave him info found in an archeological dig in Germany that gave evidence of a possible ancestor of Doom's
- Follow up on the Doom/Namor alliance from the conclusion of the "Revolution" mini
- Hickman's abbreviated story with what he did with the Infinity Gauntlet Valeria told him about.
- Now this Emperor Doom sequel
I could only come up with a couple of questions, if you see this in time:
Doom came up with some surprising initiatives in Emperor Doom, like abolishing apartheid, redistributing resources to help eliminate want and hunger, etc. What would be some of his goals if the story were done today?
Recent stories showed Doom and Morgan (or is it Morgana? I always forget) Le Fey follow up on their physical attraction to each other and know we know they had a child. Would you have done the same? Or would Marvel have nixed it back then.
"...Doom's enemies have not the mettle to challenge him host to host, tooth to nail... As economic and military options fail them, they resort to simple rudeness."
