The dude has been basically absent from this.... so how can this new thing with the character can feel "Intuitive" and even actually say that, "he does a lot more with it than Emil Blonsky ever did."Parker: And Jeph and I were talking about this yesterday. Rick's gotten powers before and used to swap bodies with Captain Mar-Vell, but for some reason this one feels intuitive. It really works well with him. It's only right that he would take the role of a former Hulk character, and I think he does a lot more with it than Emil Blonsky ever did.
The only thing i had a little hope for in this Red Hulk era was A-bomb just because that was only thing that sort of made sense to happen... a bit...... if it didn't at all, and this has not been explored at all. Outside of the first arc he appeared once that i can think of and that's it, and nothing happened.

Funny, when I think of Rick Jones, I think of the continual, resigned, "been there, done that, do I *really* have to do it again?" frustration PAD gave the character, not "joy".
Is it just me or does this pitch seem like something cooked up by a 13 year old fanboys circa 1991? I enjoyed Planet Hulk, but I have to say, I have had a hard time getting into aftermath stories following World War Hulk. I still haven't read more than the first two issues of Skaar...eh.
As a Hulk fan who's read the Hulk series up till the end of David's run, I can't say that I'm enthused at this seemingly ridiculous "Hulk family" that's popped up. I reall wish Marvel would have allowed Pak to be the lone creative mind behind the Hulk mythos. Jeff Loeb isn't doing it for me. Sorry.
"I was handed a chocolate bar and an M-1 rifle and told to go kill Hitler."--Jack "King" Kirby
I think this is probably The Definitive Rick Jones Moment. Not the best, in the sense of funniest or most dramatic, but it gets the character and his attitude across so very well in two panels:
1) There's a seeming earthquake, and he calmly says, nope, giant robots from long and bitter experience
2) He's challenged in a "that's ridiculous" way by Marlo and makes a joke.
3) He's proven right and yells in frustration that he doesn't want to be proven right all the time.
Or, as PAD himself put it:

That scene with Rick and the parachute was one of my favorite Rick moments ever.
Jeph Loeb destroying the Hulk family is just another point of reason why Joe Q should be fired at marvel. He either okayed it or let go it didn't stop it. That makes him at fault as much loeb either way. I terrible feeling about the fate of the only Real She-Hulk Jen. Loeb may not killer or just depower her or just do something where she not around for long time so they can push these very lame and retared versions of her.
Here is a question why did Loeb go back to teasing like RShulk is Jen when everything seems to point that is not true. That would make no sense that would as it would be another just to throw away everything fans like about her for a crazy red version. :( Oh god why.
8 posts to turn this thread into Yet Another Loeb Bash-Fest (TM)? Sigh. Can't anyone come up with something remotely new and/or interesting to say besides "TEH LOBE SUX!!!!"?
I'm enjoying Pak's book, and Loeb offers a counterpoint to it. I may not like some of Loeb's decisions, just as I may not like some of Pak's, but I do believe they're building to something interesting. If they had to depower Banner and take the spotlight off "our" Hulk for several months to do it, well...it seems in the short term, Marvel's had their sales bump but are now paying the price for their choices over the long term. Sales are falling across the board but Loeb's Hulk is really tanking, and Pak's isn't doing much better as it drifts lower. I'm wondering if things will turn around with "Fall of the Hulks" without a centralized limited series to tie it together.

I think what people were hoping for was a smaller more intimate story featuring the Hulk, instead of a franchise crossover.
Check out the O.A.W. Report at www.majinoaw.blogspot.com. You want to see why I say the things I do or understand what's in my head... this is the place to go.
Oh please, get that dumb shit out of here. YOU personally not liking the books means Leob destroyed the "family" and Joe Q should be fired?
Really? Fired? Even though most of Loeb's Hulk has been a huge sales success and only recently started to dip? Joe Q's decisions is a big reason why Marvel continues to be #1. Please, just stop.
