Default The Athena over at Marvel

I just wondered how Wondy fans thought of this version of Athena.

I think she's kickass, and what the other gods at DC should be like.

must admit its time we saw the dc greek gods really show their power and character. A mini is very much needed i feel. With a top top artist. Just called the olympians!

Traditionally Marvel's approach to the gods is to have them be superheroes.

DC, being much more of a composite universe, has the champions of gods roaming around.

    Just saying.

I wouldn't say it's because they have a more composite universe. It's just that DC tends to treat it's heroes AS gods far more often than Marvel does.

i wouldnt want them not to be gods and actually superhero like but i kind of think one mini or six parter featuring them would be cool and perhaps would also gain respect and interest for ww also. Tho in the mini id rather it not feature her much if at all.
Kind of how the inhumans have a mini occassionally. Just to get to know them a bit. Maybe jiminez art.

She's the reason I collect Hercules. This Athena should be in wonder woman not the wimp who's hiding and sulking.

Plotting! >:3 It's clear she was pulling the wool over Zeus's eyes for some reason.

This version looks very fun though: not really my idea of Athena, who I think is more of a "pick your moment" type than an action hero but still kind of cool (all based off that single picture, I shall add).

The Olympians is DC are essentially just supporting characters in the Wonder Woman title. And minor supporting characters at that. In TV terms they are reoccurring characters not a part of the regular cast. In Marvel they are players in their own right not just supporting characters for one person.

When Ares or Circe or Zeus or Athena show up in a DC comic it's either in the WW title or as part of a story about Wonder Woman, Donna or Cassie. They are completely dependent on a single character and unless/until that changes, they will lag behind their Marvel counterparts.
