Issue #50 seems to take place before siege (in #48 she is still hunted by Hammer and until #50 only a few days can have passed) and she already showed up in siege #2. Hence I think she won't die in her own book. There is of course still the danger that they kill her in siege
According to Brevoort there will be two more casualties. But since Ares was already the "surprising" one and the other two should come out "of the thrust of the story" I think the probability for her death in siege is quite small. Nevertheless I am a little bit scared, because she didn't showed up yet on heroic age teaser images. I hope this will change next month.

Without posting spoilers... I found issue #50 to be kind of anti-climatic. This was a book that began with a point. Carol wanted to be the 'best of the best.' That goal got a bit derailed by perhaps too many event tie-ins.

Now we've reached #50 and we're canceled. We've remembered that original point and need to have some sort of closure... but it felt rushed. To me, it felt like she only got her closure because she ran out of time and couldn't have it come organically.

I'm really sad to see this title go. I don't know if it needed a new creative team, or if Reed just needed to be allowed to write what he wanted to without diverting into the latest event every five issues. Either way... this book needed more time to finish telling Carol's story.

Agreed. Very fast read and a half ass fight with a Skrull. I mean he blew up in like 4 frames? And the lunch date with Spider-Man? Rushed book with absolutely no closure.

Check back in 6 months for issue #51 and see what happened with Captain Marvel #97.

I really liked the end of this series. I don't know about anyone else but i really want the Spider-Man/ Ms. Marvel super couple. It's a pair that how loads of potential and drama in the end. Both have great long lost loves. Both lack a better "understanding" lover. Carol knows who Peter is and Peter needs a kick ass woman in his life who isn't just using him for sex. Spider-Man is such a better person for Carol to be with than any other @$$hat she has hook up with over her carrer.

Maybe she does get some closure. I'll pick it up tommorrow... But would love to see Spider-man /Ms.Marvel date it would be something very different! But judging from the teasers he might be stuck with his same girls.

You know here little speech there was almost poetic justice in what has been done to her character and treatment of her with the book...its reflects too much to have not been done on purpose Reed.

Agreed it was anticlimactic and rushed, completely disappointing. Carol deserves better than this and she deserves not having her book canned but that is another story. I think Reed did fine with her but Marvel interference with the tie ins etc just made it pointless. And sign me up for the Carol/Peter thing, they just seem to work so well together on page even though their styles should clash. Opposites do attract I guess even in comics and it would be nice to see Pete get a gf who can take on almost anyone one on one and for Carol to have some damn stability...well as stable as Parker can be. If we cant have Peter and MJ because Joe Q is an idiot then Peter and Carol will work.
