I'm normally not a fan of manga style, but I'm definitely a sucker for my definition of well-drawn sexy females.

So not Greg Land, but good with Sana Takeda.

It's not that he's bad, his style just isn't the right fit. The Sif JiM artist is also new, correct? And that art is great, I wish we got that instead. Or swap them, Soy's style fits a fantasy (and/or a darker) setting much better

However, I think he does his own inking and coloring, so maybe if we got somebody else to do that (avoiding the dark, smudgy "painting" style) it might work better

It's not "painting" - it really is painting. Soy's a painter. If you don't want the painted look, you'll need a different artist. DeConnick mentioned in some interview somewhere that as he was a painter, it had to sort of shift their creative dialogue... since his process is entirely different.

... I've always had a soft spot for the painters, though. I can't not like it.

...he certainly can do strictly pencils. So my point about giving his art another shot with a separate inker and colorist still stands
