Shade #50 is one of the best single issues I have ever read.

I'm glad Vertigo will continue to release Shade volumes. It's the last of the great Vertigo series left collecting.

Does it say in the interview that there will be additional volumes released? I hope so; at least through #50.

It gets tricky after #50 because the quality drops right off and doesn't come back until the final 3 part story.

Do you know if DC plans on releasing tpb's of #14-50 though?

I'm pretty sure they are. If they follow the pattern they set with SMT, expect about a trade a year.

Awesome! I started buying issues by the handful when I'd find them in bargain bins, so my collection is sporadic at best. I stopped when they first published the "American Scream" tpb, thinking that more would follow soon. I was wrong (at the time) and gave up. Here's hoping they keep it up this time!

Now if we could just get new printings of The Books of Magic trades I can die happy...

I was just dicking around on Amazon, and I found Shade, The Changing Man, vol. 3: Scream Time listed for June 2010, so it seems that we will at least have to the end of the American Scream storyline by next summer.

    Good news.

How odd that the interviewer didn't ask for more details about Vertigo's publishing plans for future Shade or Human Target paperbacks.

This news makes me very happy. I loved this series to pieces, and I'm thrilled to death to finally see it get the TPB treatment. I thought that first volume was going to be it, and I'm happy to be mistaken.

Definitely good news!!! I always forget how far out Amazon has their info and never check for things that haven't been solicited through Previews...

I wonder why they don't put this older stuff out faster...? Sandman Mystery Theatre was mentioned earlier; here's material that is already printed and sitting on the shelf, yet we only see one volume a year. On the other hand, the new Transmetropolitan trades have been released about every 2-3 months... weird.
