This is, of course, relative to Marvel's sliding scale time line. When doing something like this, we have to wink at some of the previous stories from that time period, and sometimes we have to massage some of the others and try to make it all work

Very early on, we're introduced to Nathaniel Richards, the father of Mr. Fantastic, Reed Richards, and Howard Stark, the father of Iron Man, Tony Stark.

Have you guys seen the picks? It's the best-looking thing Marvel has put out since Marvels. Finally genuinely talented artists are doing work for the House.

With the history of Shield and Marvel, it looks like a crazy version of DC Frontier.

Well, Parel is just doing the covers. He's not doing the interiors.

Weaver is doing the interiors, and I'm not thrilled by that. He's got some really 90s looking artwork.

    Well, this certainly sounds ambigious.

Hopefully it'll do okay and it won't get cancelled too soon. It sounds like one of those stories which really needs a good long run in order to pay off.

I actually like Dustin Weaver's work. It's not exactly the most distinctive stuff out there but his storytelling ability is better than most.

Sounds interesting, but am I the only one that actually likes/prefers a comic book universe forged by "random occurances" instead of everything being due to conspiracy/planning? I don't like how everything's being connected to each other. That's not to say I don't enjoy the story, but in my mind, I just don't prefer everything being interconnected [ie- Wolverine seemingly knowing everyone and their parents, and then everything's that's happened to him in Origins being the result of some master plan].

I agree with this sentiment, however, I have the distinct feeling that Hickman has a fairly good chance of knocking this out of the park. I've absolutely loved his FF run so far and Secret Warriors has probably been the best thing to come out of Secret Invasion. In Hickman I trust

I agree, but it may not be so bad. It would be awesome if it wasn't in continuity, and written like a Dan Brown book. Like the Da Vinci code set in the Marvel universe.

You have a good point. But I think it's also interesting to have somebody come up and try explaining all the links. It can be pretty captivating as a story.

The "everything is tied to one another" idea I like the least is with The Eternals having created human beings and mutants. I prefer humans having powers coming from themselves and not having a cosmic being giving it to them.

As long as Hickman makes these retcons believable I'll buy this. I love his writing style. Secret Warriors has been great and if Shield is anything like it I'm sure I'll be a big fan.

It wasn't the Eternals it was the CELESTIALS and they didnt create human beings. Humans were already on earth when they got here and they just "seeded" the planet to see what happens. They then created the Eternals and Deviants.
