Bowen recently posted the picture, beforehand he just had her listed as "nearing completion." Considering how other things the past several years have seemed to happen around August for Dazz... I'd say it might be that long a wait, lol

UPDATE: According to http://www.statuemarvels.com/f87/bow...tml#post440102 the Dazzler statue will be arriving in April :-)

    Question, Dazzler Enthusiasts:

She can't be killed.....as of NEX, correct? Now...despite many insistances that NEX didn't happen or whatever....has this been addressed? Her immortality?

Or are we to assume it has to do with her refusal to accept death, back during her Aussie days, with the Siege Perilous shenanigans?

Was Claremont finally readdressing her death-defiance??

it has never been addressed and, quite frankly, I don't expect that it ever will be. Most of the Glitterati have come to the very same conclusion you have and chalked it up to the Siege Perilous shenanigans but, obviously, that isn't any sort of "actual canon," it's just something we have to tell ourselves because 1) no one has really given Dazzler a spotlight outside of her one-shot and 2) NEX was so terrible that, despite the fact Ali's about to be headlining X-Treme X-Men, I doubt any of it will be acknowledged. Hopefully we never know if it's being ignored because the only way to find out would be for her to die lol.

It was never addressed. Like many of NEX's "plots" -- Claremont would allude on message boards that it would be addressed... then it just... never was. When NEX first started coming out he stated that the last arc of the first year on the book would deal directly with Dazzler & her immortality (& made some joke about her being a long-lost Summers born on Wyndagore). He got sick & Tieri briefly took over so we got Chamber, Camelot & Cytorak stories instead. Then Claremont returned & we got that horrible Nocturne stroke story & hogwash with the Dark X-Men & Captain Britain Corp ending the book. Then we got the abysmal Exiles/NEX mini where it also wasn't addressed

I imagine it might be dealt with in some way in Xtreme X-Men. It wouldn't bother me if it didn't though (since I'd like to forget the majority of NEX happened since it wasn't revealed she was a Skrull, lol). Pak did mention in an interview that many times Dazzler has probably seemed like an alternate reality version of herself in her own (616) universe -- which I felt was a good way of putting how oddly (and across the board) she's been portrayed throughout 3 decades

Great news about the statue! I can't wait for it to get released.

I wish there would be more articles or teaser art for Xtreme. I know it isn't coming out for a few months, but I would like to at least see some concept art or something. I have no interest in AvX so it would be nice to have something to look forward to.

So would I. I'm not really picking anything up regularly (except maybe Astonishing X-Men) at the moment so it'd be nice to have something to get us excited about it.

I have a question for my fellow Dazzler fans. I stopped reading comics around the time Fraction came on board. I know Dazzler didn't do much of anything throughout that time but I know she's a had a couple of decent stories in other books. Can someone let me know which issues those might be? I want to try and catch up before X-Treme comes out.

the only books I can think of she's been in (worth checking out) since Fraction took over UXM are:

    Dazzler #1 (of course)
    Psylocke #1
    X-Men: Hellbound #1-3
Iron Age #3 (she also features slightly in "Iron Age: Omega")
X-Men: Curse of the Mutants - Storm & Gambit #1
X-Men Curse of the Mutants - X-Men vs Vampires #1
    X-Men: To Serve & Protect #4
    Age of X: Universe #2
    Wolverine: The Best There Is #7, #10-12 (#7 & 12 especially)

The X-Men: Curse of the Mutants-Storm and Gambit #1 was especially fun. She was the highlight of the issue for me.
I loved her in Wolverine The There Is, a little more comedic effect but still fun and a nice role.
I thought out of all of them she was written less than effective in Hellbound. Yost seems to like her, but doesn't seem to think she is as capable as she is.
She also has some nice panels in the actual storyline of Age of X.

I know it's Fraction but...should we not possibly add the Sisterhood and Quarantine arcs in as well??

The "city is a symphony & I'm her speaker" line was cool, but otherwise I thought she was abysmal in Sisterhood... scorching off poor British Betsy's face! I still remember Quesada hyping it as the best Dazzler was ever written, lol. Quarantine she was pretty fun in though. I wasn't sure if Flameworthy was asking for non-Fraction/non-UXM issues she'd been in or not.

Are they any comicons coming up? I really want to see if she's getting a new costume for Xtreme or not >:-(
