Q: Why does it often seem like those who say "I could go on" actually can't? It's like a polite way to tell people that you've heaped the praise they were looking for but are now done. Anyway, Dazzler delirious?

KIERON: We're on the internet, I know where google is and I'm entirely prepared to cut and paste lyrics. I could totally go on.

    INCREDIBLE.
    *snort*

    Also...
KIERON: (And an apology to a bunch of people who've asked post-Schism questions, but I can't answer 'em. Not even the ones about Dazzler.)
Q: Why doesn't Dazzler just flash some of that sexiness at Juggernaut? Hard up as he is for her, surely it would give Kuurth enough pause to allow Cain a moment of clarity and SKADOOSH! They've got him. You are welcome.

    KIERON: That's Plan 33, I believe.
I hope the 32 plans preceding fail fast!

Yes, but he paired that adjective with "complicated." I think as a whole, all he mentioned were almost like opposites of each other; she may present to the general public as one way, but in person and at her core she's another?

I love that he's apparently being DELUGED with Dazzler inquiries. I love the Glitterati, lol!

And yes, the other 32 plans are just distractions. They need to get to the END GAME already.

Y'all know I've been pretty pessimistic about Dazzler's future with the X-Men post-Schism and that continues, but I'm glad to see the creative team getting some questions about her. Maybe it will inspire some of them not to totally sideline her for another two decades.

I don't think she will be sidelined again like she was in the 90s. I think the creative teams in place now and many others at Marvel are fans of the character. She hasn't been used this consistently in quite a while. Pre M Day she was rarely if ever seen since her solo series and Outback run.

I hadn't thought about that but Wanda's big breakdown was really beneficial to Ali. I mean granted she did get placed in New Excalibur but she was on the map and brought in to the main books after it was cancelled. Since then she has been cameo/costar/guest star in the main books, and has had 3 short stories in the anthologies, heavily featured in a mini series and her own one shot.

to a degree -- I was very thankful Dazz was one of the 198 to retain her powers, but I loathed every last fiber of NEX. The many OOC moments (of any Dazz seen previously), the continuity issues, the plots that went nowhere, the pace that was as slow as thick molasses. The book was truly a clusterfuck of everything a comic shouldn't be. I re-read it not so long ago in its entirety (including the NEX/Exiles crossover) & my God, the awfulness still stands out like an uppercut to the chin

I do sometimes wonder about how different things would have been if Bendis got her for New Avengers or Reed got her for Ms. Marvel. A Dazzler attached to the greater MU instead of wallpaper for the X-sandbox is oh so appealing to me

I'm glad Bendis never got his hands on Dazzler. She either would have been jobbed to Jessica Jones or would have ended up being Jessica Jones BFF.

OMG that sounds awful. We might have gotten lucky and he would have a) never used Jessica since he had got the glorious Dazzler or b) had her "accidently" burn off Jones face.

Also, I need to go and Get Wolverine: The Best There Is 7 immediately.

He turned Spider-Woman, a heroine I had only ever read in Dazzler #16 & Avengers #221 previously, into one of my favorite Marvel heroines. I think he could have done wonders with Dazzler. Certainly better that that mangled piece of shit called "Dazzler" that Claremont gave us in New Excalibur. I never had any problems with Bendis' New Avengers title -- it was highly entertaining & for a while there the only book I felt was worth reading besides Whedon's Astonishing X-Men

I'm indifferent to her -- never really understood the reason for the hatred towards her. I mean, it's not like she's as boring & holier than thou as Jean Grey is or as pathetic as Dagger is

I love Jessica Jones, Carol Danvers and Jessica Drew. lol.

I totally forgot about this cover:

Which I love! Alan Davis is one of my all-time favorites.

    http://fuckyeahalisonblaire.tumblr.com/

reminded me. I go there for my daily dose (after here of course). I also am in love with this image:

The artist is Marcio Takara. He's done some other pieces that he included Dazzler in.

Dazzler debuts her new look tomorrow! Cross your fingers for a bigger picture.

I love that cover too -- it's a shame she doesn't appear in the actual issue IIRC

I love the 80's short-hair Madonna esque hairdos she normally has in the Aussie capris costume:

I'm expecting one of you to provide a scan if my comic shops runs out of the issue by the time I'm off work, lol

She's had a LOT of cover appearances relative to her actual panel-time. If you just looked at covers for Uncanny for the last three-four years you'd think she was a crucial member of the team.

Pretty sure that capri/midriff costume is my favorite 616 Dazzler costume, now that you mention it.
