I love Eaton's work on BP before... Much better than his current stuff. Hopefully he can return to goodness. Especially if the story is good.
What is this, Horseville? Because I'm surrounded by naysayers.

    Wow....

AA: It's all kicks off in a double-sized first issue that ends with quite a punch. And it's very new-reader friendly - if you haven't been keeping up on "Black Panther" or Doom's role in "Dark Reign," it won't matter. It's a simple setup: A unconquered kingdom has fallen to a bloodless coup. Its former King (T'Challa) and current leader (Shuri) have fled; the current Queen has been captured and sentenced to death by the new regime. Behind this new regime is a nefarious figure with an agenda whose scope goes from beyond the nation's borders (Doom).
There goes Wakanda's record of being unconquered. Figures it would be Doom that would pull it off, even if it won't last.
"...Doom's enemies have not the mettle to challenge him host to host, tooth to nail... As economic and military options fail them, they resort to simple rudeness."

their record is still better than Latveria's.

Yes, conqurered from behind the scenes...not by far though...for example. I know who the broker is...and when you find out it will make sense.

Doom has a faction of Wakandan's on his side, not to mention the Broker and his army. But it's not by force...Doom did it the smart way, because you are not going to beat them like that.

    But It's still a first.

Oh, I don't deny that Latveria's history is far more tumultous then Wakanda's. The Red Skull did slide in a couple of times in Doom's absence and it has had regime changes.

What does surprise me is that apparently Wakandans are taking part in this coup. Umbra, do they know about Doom being tied to the Broker? Or is that too much of a spoiler?

So, according to the preview art, Bishop is (will be) back and fighting alongside the X-Men against Doom? Weird...

To much of a spoiler. I won a contest about who the broker was... so yeah, it's a spoiler.

But Like I said. This all makes Doom so much more bad ass then that Millar stuff. Once you see who the broker is...and how deep ish runs. Doom gets major love from BP brain trust...there will be on jobbing.

Doom is the first to rule the nation even thought it's not by force...he still did it. That's a huge feat in my opinion.

And also, according to Maberry. Doom is now going to be a BP villian from here on out. So while he is still a Reed rival, he is also a huge BP rival now.

The is trying to kill T'challa's wife. I beat he kills some other royals also. This is very smart on marvel's part in my opinion.

No that is from last volume when Eaton was drawing BP (the wedding arc).

Wow, thanks Umbra. That's good to know about the no jobbing. I realize that as a villain Doom's win/loss ratio is not going to be good but I am happy when the writer treats him with respect he deserves as one of Marvel's major marquee villains. I didn't realize Maberry had such long range plans. BTW, I posted a Doom with pimp cup scan over in the Doom/Magneto thread.

I hope Maberry realizes that Ororo's the best of the best when it comes to escape artists. Even if it is Doom we're talkin about.

I hope this doesn't end with Doom being ousted from Latveria. He's already been ousted twice recently, in Unthinkable/Authoritative Action and in the Mighty Avengers storyline.

Also, I thought it was more interesting when Doom actually respected Black Panther and Storm, instead of the evil racist Hudlin gave us.
