This is the best new book of 2009, in my never to be humble opinion. Creative, crazy, beautifully illustrated and written.
I've liked John's work for a while and I just hope this is the first of many new Layman projects at Image.

I ain't no hot dog, yo.
Not a bad book but far from best book to come out of 2009 for me. It's hanging on a gimmick, if it can prove successful past that, maybe it will mature into a great book.
Right now Sweet Tooth and Cowboy Ninja Viking are the two best things to be born in 2009 for me.
Its by far the best new book 2009 for me. Not because of the concept but of cool characters, how fun it is,awesome cartooney art.
Issue 6 was awesome :)
Pull List:
The Walking Dead,Fatale,Near Death,Storm Dogs,Happy,BPRD,XO-Manowar
American Vampire,Animal Man,Swamp Thing
Daredevil, Winter Soldier,Indestructible Hulk
Chew has been a ton of fun, that's for sure.
best of the year?
Viking has been really cool so far... as has Sweet Tooth...
I still need to give CNV and The Tick New Series a fair shake before I can call best of 2009 tho. But Chew's in the running

That and celebrity spokesmodels.
CNV ?
Viking didnt look different enough at first glance.
Anything that makes it interesting other than another generic take on Vikings ?
