"Arguably the most anticipated game of the year, "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" hit stores everywhere this week."
Wrong, Killzone 2 was by far the most anticipated game of the year.
If not killzone 2 then it would be street fighter 4 and then Resident evil 5.
It's not that Modern Warfare isn't better, its just that these games are all classics (exception to killzone 2) that have a larger fan-base (if that's even possible)

are you on crack?
MW2 is set to be the highest selling video game ever. how does that not make it the most anticipated title of the year? the presales of this thing were ridiculous.
Killzone 2 is a PS3 exclusive which cuts the sales in half right there. SFIV and RE5 are both great games, but MW2 will outsell them by bazillions-hence it has the larger fanbase.
Plus, if any exclusive is the most anticipated title of the year it is Halo:ODST.
but, about the comic: cover art looks great. i hear the story in the game makes no sense. hopefully the comic does.
i don't know where you got that information, but it is not correct.
- this is information released on Nov. 3rd
Controversy Doesn’t Affect MW2 Pre-SalesUpdate: Via USA Today comes word that MW2 has officially broken the record for pre-orders at GameStop. Tony Bartel, EVP for Merchandising and Marketing told the paper, “As of today, the number of pre-order reservations we've taken for the game is the highest for any title we've ever sold in our 6,200 store network."

Gaz, after all he was shot in the FACE by Zakhaev, and Ghost happens to wear a facemask, also they are voiced by the same guy
I am a big Lapham fan, but despise Call of Duty....
Anyone pick this up who is a fan of Lapham's other works, is it the same style and depth of the writing, or is it just a "pay the bills" kind of job?
started playing this game last night. pretty amazing. looks great.
This is like the saddest thing ever.
Lapham unleashes Young Liars, one of the most mind blowingly inventive, smart, dangerous, wild, new, different, surreal, angry, funny and disturbing comics in a long, long time and the world goes ho-hum, scratches it's butt and waits for another company wide cross over with super special tie in rings to drop. It goes the way of the dodo, the way of the truly special, rather quickly, leaving it's readers bummed.
And then Lapham triumphantly returns to the genre with a video game tie in comic.
I'm not bad mouthing him for doing it. If anything I hope a million people buy it and he has enough scratch to finish Stray Bullets, I'm just bemoaning the fact that original work that requires brain usage will always lose to product tie ins with video games where you get to murder foreigners.
No need to be harshy...
Anyway I'm not saying that MW2 isn't better than any of these, MW2 is way better in fact, but back in 2006 you didn't knew it would even come out did you?
Killzone 2 first trailer come out on 2006 E3, so I stand correct when I say that this was the most anticipated game of the year.
I already finished MW2 like 3 times, this is one hell of a game.
