Such a real man.

Just a great, great character with an original and, when you really think about, really powerful skill set. I like him as one of the old vets of the MU, kind of the opposite of Clint Barton. A guy who's been around and is the world-weary voice of reason. It's a shame he's not a character in an ongoing.
Brubaker did a nice twist for about five minutes, with Falcon pulling Bucky/Cap's tail out of the fire a coupla times. Bucky feeling like he has to impress Sam because Wilson was Rogers' partner for so long. I liked that. He's a cagey old soldier. That's how he seems to me.
Got to call out Brubaker, though, (again) for Falcon not recognizing the '50s Cap when he showed up at a campaign rally and Wilson and Barnes were watching it on TV. First Cap book I read was when the '50s guys were unfrozen and spouted all kinds of racist crap at Wilson. He should've said "Hey! That's that moron '50s Cap! Me and Steve pounded hell out of those guys back in the Silver Age."
I have to admit though... I've never been a fan of heroes who control animals and force them into battle with them. I just feel kinda bad for the birds (or the fish or the squirels or whatever). For whatever reason, I feel worse seeing animals getting beat up by supervillains than people (though at least animals typically do quite well).
So I'm actually kind of glad they limit that ability. I'd hate to see a whole bunch of birds getting killed off.
not right now but i think it'd be cool if Sam had a sidekick or was in the process of training another hero.
speculative candidates:
Eli Bradley
David Alleyne
Donyell Taylor
Dwayne Taylor
Joaquin Pennysworth
they don't necessarily have to be black or male. but i think a black male would look better wearing his uniform.
Sam getting a sidekick would be great.

There's always Bucky. Falcon proved to be a mentor to him for a while.
Perhaps once Steve returns Bucky and Falcon will continue their that.
I still don't know what this is from

I'm gonna be a little crazy and pick up someone who's not black, Nomad. I'm still on the wall on the character but it makes more sense to me since the Taylor brothers are in their 20s, Patriot seems to have a bond with Bucky, you can't teach Prodigy since he probably already knows it, and I honestly don't know much about Joaquin Pennysworth.
