Default Gotham = Wonder Woman's protectorate?

What would happen if Wonder Woman came to Gotham City and became the
protector of that place before Bruce Wayne, soon to be Batman, came
back from this trip around the world?

How would Gothamites react towards someone like WW in their
city (including Bruce Wayne & James Gordan)?

What would happen if Gotham criminals had to deal with Wondy stepping
up to the plate to stop/defeat them and ruin their plans (especially the
    costumed ones)?

What would happen if Batman (Bruce W.) met Wondy after she was battling some criminals?

Would WW's presence in Gotham make a more, less or somewhat
positive change in that city or not?

And of course, how would Wondy staying in Gotham effect in the DC Universe?

What trip around the world? You mean the one he had during the "One Year Later" period?

Or the one he had before he ever became Batman in the first place?

Or is he supposed to be on some trip around the world NOW instead of stumbling through pre-history?

It SOUNDS like you mean the second one, but I want to be sure before I give a detailed answer.

The Gotham villains would need to be completely overhauled, as would Diana herself.

I can't really see this working.

Diana sends a quick text to the girls: Donna, Cassie, Kara, PG, Mary, and Isis.

Together, they quickly clean up Gotham in time for the afternoon parade, and actually remember to lock the door at Arkham when they leave.

    Everyone is happy.

    The End.

It'd be boring. Gotham's criminals would all be gone before they even had time to say, "Oh sh*t, it's Wonder Woman."

And Harley Quinn ends up cured, reformed and a respected member of the Amazons!

Actually, this might make a cool Elseworld story ;)

She'll wipe the floor with half of Bruce's villains that's what.

She can toss a tank, fly, has her bracelets and the lasso making anyone speak the truth, she also is quite diplomatic and wise (well use to be) and if that fails...well, sorry for you. She will do what needs to be done.

I think it would be excessively dull .The only way this would work is if you somehow forget what Diana is capable of.

Also, remember what happened when she faced Clayface. That episode left off on a cliffhanger, if I'm not mistaken, which I probably am. What do you mean by pain? I really need to catch up on the Batman villains, as I don’t know those two; I remember the Joker for one, and lastly Clayface. I was stuck on Batman the animated series, because I left off there. The Batman villains would need to use tactics, as muscle is way out of the question for most of them.

I was just making a Rocky III reference. ;)

Tactics aren't going to work against someone who:

    -- Has Super-Speed
    -- Has Super-Strength
    -- Is essentially invulnerable
-- Can split a planet in half
-- Is a warrior par excellence
    -- And all the rest

The way I look at it Wonder Woman could muscle all of Batman's villians, but depending on which versions of the villians we're talking about I think sooner or later they would get to her mentally. Sometimes those Batman villians get pretty dark. I mean is she going to be facing the Joker that tries to rob banks with exploding pies or the one that kills a whole boy scout troop just becuase, or the Mad Hatter who is a child molester. I mean right now Grant Morrison has a guy who's running around eating people's faces in the Batman and Robin title. I think more so today then in the past Batman's villians have never really been about their physical power, but their mental affect on Gotham and the people in it.
