I would really like to see someone obscure like Blackwulf appear in this series. Definitely excite to see the original Death's Head.

I'm not afraid to admit i am getting this SOLEY because i heard Death's Head (the original, accept no substitutes or highly-derivative sequels, yes?) was going to be in it. plus i needed a cool small book to replace MI13...

    Getting this for Gillen.

If it's half as good as Phonogram Vol. 2 has been then we're in for a big treat.

Agent Brand looks like a shemale on that cover. And who's doing the coloring work here? Or what software? Cheap green hair dye jobs. Or she's natural green, I'm too lazy to wiki the damn thing now.

And if it's as half as bad as the BRB mini, we're in for a real bummer.

P.S. Phonogram vol. 2 isn't that good. Namechecking some UK import album of the month doesn't make for great comic reading. Maybe there will be some cohesion coming on, but so far it's been character profiles of some highly unlikeable jackasses (except for maybe the poor Pipettes-fan in the first issue).

    Whoa whoa whoa ...

First, I'm incredibly excited, it sounds really promising. But I hope Karolina doesn't willingly go like all the other aliens. It wouldn't make any sense.

The cover looks kinda eeerrrks as well. Inside art though looks awesome.

I'm really on the fence about this one. Gillen's interviews make it sound awesome, but the six page preview kind of disappointed me. I'll definitely get the first ish, but it really needs to wow me.

While I agree overall, the goat Beast is just ugly.

    This does sound pretty good.

Can't wait to see who shows up with the alien angle.

I'm not too familiar with Brand and the rest as I'm not a dirty mutie fan, looking forward to what this has to offer.

I'm excited for the Gillen to work with his Phonogram collaborator Jamie McKelvie on the backup. I'm also getting this for Death's Head I, and the fact that is has more to do with Whedon's Astonishing than that series does now. Sanders draws Beast kinda weird, though.

    *snort*

Their use of Gyrich is infantile...really infantile.

Oh well, this series on't even last 12 issues and the art doesnt entice me.

I wouldve loved a SWORD series since the premise works and something that I think that could help the cosmic side of marvel (allowing for actual interaction between Earth and the cosmic characters)

But how the writer is going about it and the look of the book?

    Not so much love there.

Unlike the first Phonogram book that was about a very optimistic loving caring main character.

I think Phonogram is fantastic. The second volume even more so. I don't know who half the bands are and it really doesn't matter, the tales are great done in one stories that also have some correlation with each other. One of my favorite books right now. And based on that series alone I give any book written by Gillien a try.

I'll definitely be checking this out. I actually like some of the Art from the Preview. Mostly the pages with Beast. I feel they are drawn in an almost Storybook like way.
