I sort of gambled on this one based on Tony and Scott's past work. Gamble paid off. The first issue is quite good. Splendid Physician is interesting. He seems to have the right attitude toward the government but isn't all that likeable based on his origin. Doubtlessly, he will throw in with the ancient gods. So the team is already splintering.

Didn't know Lei Kung was a legitimate mythological being, just thought it was a name made up for Iron Fist. I assume the ancient gods are all correctly named for Chinese mythological beings. How much interpreting has been done? Will their personalities and realms of authority (god of this or that) be true to Chinese myth?

Anyway, based on the first issue I will continue buying.

General in Iron seems somewhat different from the little I saw of him in Checkmate. Less commanding and more of a government errand boy.
