Default Hey Ron, about your new projects

I'm just wondering what your plans for the new year are in terms of writing. I heard something about a vampire series. Is it a creator owned project. What company will be releasing it and when? when does the big Top Cow cross over that you are working on begin?

Also, with all of this stuff, have you thought about ending your Witchblade run or will you still be on that title for the foreseeable future?

Default help till marz can set the record straight.

from memory he's commited to 150? also i seem to recall hes tackling either Angelus or Magdalena soon. Which of course is great news but i'm still hesitant that it'll help top cow, they seem to be stuck in terms of output quantity...... so whilst i'm sure it'll be a good read it'll likely just take something else's place on the month it ships.

thats not a shot at top cow either, they produce some top stuff, its just they seem to be unable to increase quantity and hold quality...... plus after Cyberforce/Hunterkiller wraps they are starting a new Cyberforce ongoing so again hesitant.

    Here's what's on my plate:

Witchblade ongoing, I'm committed through #150 at least, but Stjepan have stories to tell that'll last another year or possibly two past that.

Angelus, six-issue mini starting in December, art by Stjepan Sejic.

Magdalena ongoing, starting in April, art by Nelson Blake 2nd.

Artifacts, 13-issue maxi-series for Top Cow, starting in July.

Pantheon City, four-issue creator-owned series with Clement Sauve from Dark Horse, sometime in 2010.

Shinku, creator-owned mini with Lee Moder, more information about publisher and timing soon, when we have everything signed.

I've also got the third volume of Samurai: Heaven & Earth, whenever Luke Ross can get room in his Marvel schedule to draw it, as well as some projects that haven't been announced yet.

Mentok, Top Cow keeps its output relatively small on purpose. They don't want to overextend their production or talent. They'd rather put out four or five good books in a month than 10 so-so books in a month.

Sounds like s big year. Was it a typo when you said that Stjephan will be on it a year or two past issue 150 or were you referring to the both of you?

By the way I also wanted to tell you how incredible the 2 Samurai Heaven and Earth volumes were. I just finished them. That really is a special project and a work of art higher than than your typical comic and its no wonder you like it so much

Yeah, sorry, that's a typo. Stjepan and I will be on WB together for a good long time.

And glad you liked Samurai. It's the project that means the most to me. Thanks for picking them up.

Thats great to hear. I can't imagine the Witchblade title without your name attached to it. I only started reading it because you were writing it, and I think you and Stjepan are the top creative team in comics right now.
