I've not yet gotten around to reading "All Hail Megatron!" so this one's going to have to wait till after that.

That preview just made it hard to wait. Man, can Figueroa draw himself a Transformer!

I won't ruin it for anyone, but the TF that dies is a bad call by Costa and IDW. Hopefully, someone will find some version of the Matrix and change that post-haste.

Why does the art have to mimic the live action movie? I HATED those movies and really don't think I can read a G1 series that has robots the look as horrible as they did in that movie.
Here's hoping the art improves or I just might bail on this before it starts.

The art looks really great, but yeap, the movie influence is definitely there. Personally I have no problem with that. Looking forward to this series!

Except that it hurts makes it a good call. And it does hurt.

Just reading that sequence has made me notice that there were some hints during All Hail Megatron about this character. Besides, it's not like other characters haven't returned from the dead before.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

And either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives.

No I agree, the live action movies were an insult to the fans and the franchise as a whole so I'm super thrilled about seeing that garbage filter down to the new series.

It's not ok that people find it ok. I won't be reading this series.

Now that said, I will give them that the character they chose to kill, that's a ballsy move, I have a hard time supporting it but the character in question just happens to be my favorite Autobot.
Then again, that means he won't be drawn in that horrid art anymore...maybe he got off easy...

Even though I'm not a fan of the TF's taking on these movie version looks, nor a fan of this apparent decision to all of a sudden redo their looks..........they don't look that bad under Don Figueroa's pen.

To me these looks less like the movie Transformers and more like more detailed, more "realistic" version of their designs from the Classics toyline. Especially Optimus Prime.

The Transformers Magazine has been doing this for a while as well.

The preview art really looks movie influenced. So it'll be yet another transformer book I'll pass. Hopefully All Hail Megatron will continue, its a good series.

I like the more robotic-looking faces that the Transformers have in this series. The human/cartoony faces of past comics have always bothered me. Now, they actually look like living machines.
