Impressive interview, with even more impressive artwork of Issue #30....

And you can be certain that spoilers:
the "Reunion" showing within the artwork between Penance/Speedball & the former NWs
end of spoilers is just the tip of the iceberg for that issue....

....Plus, it'll be interesting how SIEGE will plays out for the current series.....

yeah! good stuff there, i've really been diggin' the book again.

Not sure what to do about Siege since i'm not going to buy 12 $4 monthlies where the "main" story will be... might have to drop Initiative for that and pick it all up in Trade...

============ Just say "NO!" to $4 books. ============

The one scene with Griffin's face covered in beer is downright adorable.
I know Kevin Nichols through a guy that knows a gal. Small world!

If nihilism didn't take some delight in destruction one might suspect nihilists were an unnaturally morbid sort.

I like the Resistance, especially with Tigra as leader. A bit justice for the character since she was brutalized.

Huge on both counts. The Initiative goes up against their most powerful opponents yet. They're Norman's superhuman army, and like it or not, they're going to war - against gods. And the Avengers Resistance moves to take down Camp H.A.M.M.E.R. once and for all. The fallout will change everything. The status quo as it's been since issue #26 will be blown up. And no, it's not going back to what it was before Dark Reign - it'll be something totally different. Draw your own conclusions…

Why would they want to totally change the very concept of the book that has worked so well since the books inception?

So seeing as how it's totally gonna change we're talking no more SHRA, no more 50 state initative, no more shadow initative, possibly no more huge ensemble cast.

So basically we might be trading all the above for a book about training future generations of heros which is only ONE aspect of what made ATI work.

Somebody please explain to me how this is a smart move

I like the book. Iven though as gage suggests is part of the draw, I can't root for a character like Tony Soprano and I think takmaster is about as gray as deep space.

Tasky is grey? On what level of morality is he gray?

He just wants to make money. He doesn't, say, lead an attack on Avengers mansion. He's a gun for hire, like Deadpool or Paladin. Not going out of his way to be evil.

I don't envy Gage having to follow Slott on writing this title, but I'll give it a shot.
Power - Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. But it rocks absolutely, too.

kind of depends on the story and the writer. in his earlier appearances he wasn't exactly introduced as a bloodthirsty individual. he's not revenge driven or likely to torture people. he's just out to make a buck off of training hired muscle to lose to superheroes. he's probably done the heroes a favor by turning out such incompetent thugs. he also risked his life to save Sandy and help out that guy he thought was Deadpool. that makes him gray when compared to someone like Osborn.

Just in case Gage is reading this and the slim chance that he wasn't aware of it, but Nightmare has a bit of history of raping women. Trauma has at least two half-siblings in Dreamqueen (the bad one) and Daydream (the good one).

Speaking of which, one of the women Nightmare raped in her sleep was Betty Banner, which in chronological order would make him responsible for driving the Hulk mad and exiled to the crossroads, killing his first unborn child, raping his wife, and plaguing him with both the Devil Hulk personality the entire Jones run of the book in recent years (by twisting his perceptions of reality). All in all Hulk should have more reason to hate this particular villain than any other character. Just saying.

It seeming l depends where you draw the line between black and gray i guess, he is nowhere nearly as evil as Osborn, Bullseye or Hill for example but he is also worthless scum who kills people who trust hi for a few bucks, I would put in in the black but not as far as some others.
