I mean I don't find the sequence particularly necessary but I don't think it was the worst thing ever dammit Bendis!!1 either.
    Friendly hug?!

Totally not a fan of Secret Avengers #29 expressly because Widow is on the cover and in only 3 panels!

Glock 26? Those are very small guns. I could see her with the larger yet still compact Glock 19.

Not useless, but overused I think. That said, that Widow reference art with the color swatches is very nice.

She was finally put to good ;) use in today's issue (8) of Winter Soldier (Brubaker knocked it out of the park.)

I have to say that I love Natasha's role in Winter Soldier. As much as Ed Brubaker is credited with reinvigorating Captain America and Bucky, I think he has also done a really good job of elevating Natasha to A-list in the Marvel Universe.

I'm anxious to see what Leo has planned for Natasha. "I want her to be bad" could mean bad times for Good Guys. And I like that Brubaker is emphasizing that the Black Widow IS one of the most dangerous women in the world. No powers, just lethal fighting skills and an exceptionally cunning mind.

Though come what may I hope eventually things can work out between Bucky and Nat.

Black Widow, maybe moreso than even Black Panther, is that slightly macabre, dark hero amidst the brightly colored Big Guns of Marvel, and I'd love to see that creepy element of the character played up more. Avengers should bristle, when she comes into a room, ..in places other than their trousers. I'm not sure why writers seem stuck casting her as some cliched, outdated Bond movie throwaway. She's an iconic character, with an origin and concept that's easy to understand.

There's no reason the Batman of the Marvel Universe can't be a woman.
From the Golden Age of comics, the film short they don't want you to see... WONDER BOY LIVES!

I would love to see her in Spider-Man's world as it is the perfect set up for Black Widow and Mystique.

I like this a lot. She's gorgeous, but not falling out of her outfit, and still lethal business.

They weren't watching the same film I was, then.

What an interesting idea! She wouldn't exactly be Batman, but there's definitely aspects they could highlight that are similar. That's one think I really enjoyed about the movie, was it showed her spy skills, in getting information, not just being kick a$$ fighter.

Don't know if this has come up before, but looks like Natasha is getting a costume makeover.

Were there any named Black Widows aside from Natasha and Yelena? There was that one Howling Commandos one-shot set in WWII. Any others?
