I'm saying that House of M was silly since I don't think Wanda could have done that. The whole premise was flawed (not to get into other problems with that story, at least not in this thread). And if she did do it the second time, why did that carry over when, say, Gwen Stacy and Illyana and whoever else was alive then did not?
(Not to mention, why did all the Avengers decide seeing Hawkeye's uniform pinned up with arrows in the ruins of the mansion mean he was alive in hiding and not, you know, possibly in need of their help?)
Anyway, though, instead of derailing the thread, some favorite Hawkeye moments? I think mine was the beach fight with USAgent -- and how it eventually led to their friendship -- in Avengers West. I was really disappointed Agent didn't get to make some crack about ninja idiocy in the recent MA arc.
Renner was good in Hurt Locker. And...... You'll have to excuse my girliness here, but I don't think Renner is cute enough to act as Clint. I'd pick Ryan Reynolds over him if he weren't already involved in Deadpool. There was some talk of Jensen Ackles, too. Other choices could be Jake Gyllenhaal, Daniel Craig (maybe a little short?), Owen Wilson (although his mouth isn't really like Clint's), Paul Walker... These are based on past acting roles, too, I swear.
If you want a completely annoying, over the top Clint, there's always Dane Cook.
he didn't have a problem with kate bishop after she told him cap gave her the hawkeye name. of course cap thought clint was dead.
I agree with a lot of this, but remember, Jessica Jones is Bendis' Mary Sue. I'm pretty sure she knows everyone in the MU and has been their bestest friend ever since they were created, even though they've never had a single appearance together on page... She was one of the major reasons I've never bought Young Avengers.
lol Oh I absolutely agree with you. I feel as though Jessica Jones has been molded into Bendis's vision of "What if I were female, had superpowers, and got to have Luke Cage's baby? *giggle*".
I guess to elaborate a little on my personal feelins about this, I mean to say that I don't think Jessica Jones should have been the one to give Kate Bishop items that were once Hawkeye's. There is no meaning there. If Iron Man was the one to do it, it would have had more value. Jones declined being an Avenger and went off to do her own thing... What did Clint mean to her at the time? Not a whole lot.
In a way, it's like Bendis stepping in the comic saying "Well, I don't really care about Hawkeye or anything, but you can have his stuff... The next writer will figure out what to do with you."
Nothing more to say really that Hawkeye is the God of awesomeness.
My favorite comic character and the reason why I still read comics.
He's also why I love the Avengers-the old school version- so much. He's why super-hero comics are cool.
All purple and attitude.
