Only recently got into comics so my first experience with Hawkeye was in the Avengers movie and i hated him but i picked up issue 1 of the comic and i have to say i am very impressed.

Boy am I happy they changed the red to purple. Fuck Jeremy Renner. What a fucking baby for not wanting to wear purple. Him and his stupid over-acting. I don't think there was one moment in Avengers where it felt like Hawkeye didn't have a stick up his ass. Maybe they'll recast him with someone with personality now that he's getting more popular from his book.

Do you have some sort of source citing they made his costume... MAROON and not purple because of Renner. Because I'm pretty sure it was just going off the Ultimate Universe color... And Renner didn't have much to do as Clint, so I'm not sure why there is so much hate there.

Yeah I certainly didn't hear Renner say he was behind changing the costume.

I think it’s going to be a little more reality-based. You can kind of tell with Scarlett [Johansson]‘s character [in 'Iron Man 2'], it’s going to be more of a uniform . . . and not a big purple, comics sort of thing.

I don't think the lack of he classic costume had much to do with Renner, and likely had more to do with it just looking very silly in live-action. That and it doesn't really make sense for him anyway since he's a SHIELD assassin in the movie.

This is his best one. It's a mixture of classic and Ultimates in my mind. Mordern but not drastically different.

-I believe His hearing was repaired during/directly after Heroes Reborn because Clint's hearing problems weren't public knowledge so when Franklin brought him back he didn't know to make him hearing impaired. Or something to that effect. It's been a while since I've read that era of Avengers.

Just read the trade, then immediately had to buy back issues to get caught up. Loving this title. I think the story, pace, and humor all appeal to my taste.

Btw, hopefully some of you guys were able to pick up Hawkeye #1 before Comixology crashed. I own 4 hard copies of that book (one for each printing), but reading it in panel guided mode was the best experience I had reading it. Makes a lot of the time transitions a lot easier to pick up on when only one panel is focused on at a time. Note: You can usually tell when things go from flashback to now because Clint will be in the same position and his expression is nearly the same in both panels. It's a neat framing trick that after reading that issue several times I just realized by reading digitally.

I'm off to pester Brevoort to demand he lets me buy Hawkeye digitally on the cheap after buying them in hard copy so I can have a new reading experience.

Should have gotten Josh Holloway for Hawkeye. Renner doesn't possess enough charm to be Hawkeye or to be a movie star for that matter.
