There's no doubting the cool factor of the bow. It's so...swashbuckling.

Ronin has nunchaku and swords, which are kinda cool but feel less...dynamic. I think the bow lends itself to great poses and action.

If you haven't read West Coast Avengers before try individual comic issues first.

See, growing up with the Ninja Turtles I hold both the swords and nunchaku in high regard (also the bo staff), but the bow and arrow is cool also.

Good idea. Which arc would you recommend?

I loved AWC. It's the series that got me into Marvel comics. I'm sure there are bits that are dated now -- and sadly some of Roy Thomas' run at the end wasn't as good as the rest (though it did pick up as he went along) -- but if you like classic Avengers, it's good comics.

I want this to be his standard outfit. Black&Purple like that looks so awesome.

Hey, Splinter had a bow and arrow. I remember it coming packaged with the toy.

    Default Hawkeye Appreciation

I first discovered him Captain America and the Avengers video game. I think Marvel need's to bring back Clint as Hawkeye. As Goliath, and Ronin it just doesn't work. Though I can't I loved him being ballsy as usual going after Norman Osborne, cracking smartass remarks to Daken, shooting Bullseye in the head, etc.

I became a huge fan of his character back in the old West Coast Avengers books. To me he seemed to be the ideal combination of team player with just enough independence to really define his character. I agree he needs to be the official Hawkeye again and I am looking forward to his book with Mockingbird, even though I fear it will be short lived.

I first discovered the character in some old comics a friend gave me. He and Vision are my favorite Avengers. I hope he returns to be the old Hawkeye, from Avengers and Thunderbolts, not the angsty ninja, in the Heroic Age.

Which is what he is as Ronin?

So do you agree is Hawkeye meant to be a answer to DC's Green Arrow?

Is he meant to be Marvel's answer to DC's Green Arrow?

Loved during the list he decided to try, and kill the piece of garbage Norman. Even though he was unsuccessful Ronin cracked smartass remarks to Daken, Bullseye, and Norman. Add in he pawned Bullseye, held his own against Daken.

I came to the character via the very short series written by Fabian Nicieza. I really loved the portrayal of Clint in that story.

I don't think so. Their backgrounds and motivations are different. I also find Clint to be more likeable and more admirable. I find Oliver Queen to be hyporcritical.

If you want to say he is Marvel's answer to Green Arrow, you could go down a very long list of chracters with similar power sets.

They both use a bow and arrow. They are both great characters that have been horribly misused at times.

That's it unless you want to draw parallels between their relationships.
