i wonder why Norman chose Bullseye to be his Dark Avengers' Hawkeye instead of the less psychotic Taskmaster.

Because Bullseye is the perfect son of a bitch to tarnish Hawkeye's name. And he would be a human weapon like his Ultimate counterpart.

Taskmaster would have been too perfect a choice for the role. You have a guy not only good at the bow and arrows that he could add any other weapons to his arsenal. And from that point on, you don't have to bring the original back to life. Clint would be basicaly useless.

Kurt Busiek Says:"Best Avengers Run, Steve Englehart's run in the 1970s. With Roy Thomas's run that preceded it close behind, and the Conway/Shooter/Michelinie run that followed close behind that

Surely it was reward for his loyalty? At that point in time, I don't think Osborn realized how good an ally Taskmaster would be. Surely he only really met him after he took over H.A.M.M.E.R.? And at that time, Bullseye would be a much more "reliable" person to play Hawkeye.

I think he did it because he likes to be surrounded by people who are just as psychotic as he is. Look at the DA lineup, they all have serious issues beyond being villains.

I think it was because Taskmaster wasn't part of The Initiative yet. Remember the Deadpool DR series? Taskmaster teamed up with DP. I'm surprised that Taskmaster is even employed with Osborn after that.

actually Taskmaster was employed by Norman while aiding Deadpool. he expressed reservations about the ploy throughout the crossover. and Norman never found out that it was Taskmaster. the latter used a holographic projector the entire time.

    I hope so.

Clint would want to redeem his image after Bullseye and Oborne tarnished it.

The problem then becomes what to name Kate Bishop. The Archer?

provided that they don't have Kate killed off and replaced by Rikki Barnes.

I'd imagine that Clint would want to clean up his image after this. As far as Kate goes, call her Artemis.

Kate as Trickshot works for me...just give Clint back his Hawkeye identity.

I do like the "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" somewhat angle for Clint and Bobbi. They've both changed, but the attraction is still there and a good obstacle to see as they work together.

I didn't mind their dynamic at all, I find them to be a great couple.

But it did irk me that Mockingbird's comeback came at the expense of a potentially interesting pairing of Clint and Echo. I mean, it wouldn't be the first time Clint and Matt shared the same girlfriend and one of the things that they would have had in common was the deafness thing even though Clint was "cured" of that.

An Echo and Clint pairing would have been interesting dynamic to put in New Avengers.

I think this was probably a case of "stick with what you know." I mean Osborn did bring up all the Thunderbolts he could to Dark Avengers. Bullseye, Moonstone and Venom had worked well enough for him thus far, and they were familiar to him. It seems he preferred familiarity to going out and hand-selecting an entire new team. I wonder if he would have brought Swordsman too had he not have that little... psychotic episode with the stabbing and the throwing out a window.

Oh? I didn't know that. I've always wondered how Stan Lee can forget so much stuff, but even as a simple comic reader, I can read things and forget them, so I can't give them any kind of crap for it, lol.
