Hi guys,
Im after some stories or issues that deal with or show Thors exile to Earth and how and why he became associated with his alter egos if that makes sense. ive always been curious as to where and when this specifically happened in the comics..
any help please?
It was way back in Thor #159 that we got the original 'whole story' about his exile as Donald Blake (reprinted in Essential Thor V3)...in #341 that he sets out as Sigurd Jarlson for the first time...appears to be in #392 that he meets Eric Masterson for the first time as Jarlson, but it isn't until #425 (reprinted in The Black Galaxy Saga TPB) that they lock in as 'halves of the same whole'. That resolves however it does (not caught up that far, myself! nor sure it's worth the effort). It's in Thor #2, Jurgens' run (V1 reprinted) that he's returned as Jake Olsen, which resolves however that does, many issues later, and it's in Thor #1, Straczynski's run, that we have Donald Blake back. Possibly the most complicated succession of arrangements for coping with life on Earth, to be taken on by any superhero.
Gotta say, I still have a soft spot for Sigurd...
Mostly moved on to fanfiction.net...
Man, I hate the newest Thor costume. Nothing replaces the original.

Life is what you make it.
Anybody else excited with the fact that Adam Kubert is drawing the Fear Itself epilogue of Thor??![]()

I really wish artists would go the route with Thor that they generally do with Odin.
No one costume but a general design theme that changes day to day as he changes his clothes.
The armor should be armor he dons to fight or for formal occassions.
The rest of the time he should wear clothes.
They all should have some form of the discs and the T rune as identifiers.
Thor doesn't have to wear a mask or costume to cover his identity or establish when he's on, he's himself 24/7 - he's Thor.
(Except when a writer dredges up dreck like Blake, Olson or Masterson to slow the story down)
Anything that marginilizes or better yet eliminates Blake is aces with me.
It just occurred to me. When Thor separates from Blake. Rather than be killed or sent back to limbo, Blake would make the perfect staff for the Avengers as a doctor to the team much like Jane Foster was during Busiek era. He was used quite well when he helped Clint get his sight back. He can provide great interactions to the team while providing his medical skills to injured members.
