Right before I noticed this thread I was thinking about posting about Captain America. I only recently got back into comics, and I never had any interest in Captain America. He always seemed kinda boring. I only had to read one issue about him to have a completely different attitude. Captain America really does deserve his fame. He comes off as a goody goody police officer authority figure who follows all the rules. What he really is is a total badass renegade who is willing to risk anything and break any rule to protect his country and it's true values.

I also loved when he attacked Daredevil, and Daredevil held his shield. He describe it as being like "holding a Stradivarius", the highlight of his night. It's just such a perfect idea for a tool to be carried by our country's loyal top cop and top soldier. The most perfect defensive tool ever made. It brings to mind other famously perfect weapons all held by legendary characters: the muramasa sword, Mjolnir, the Stormblade, Excalibur, etc. but what's special about the shield is it's the only object that fits in the same category without being mala in se. It's a defensive tool first, and a devastating weapon to anyone foolish enough to oppose Captain America.

I really regret all the time I spent not being a Captain America fan. I'm just glad I came to my senses on time to see him getting really famous again in the movies, the comics, the cartoons. It's a bandwagon I'm proud to be on.

    ^LOL.

I've always liked Cap the superhero, so I cannot wait for Cullen Bunn to take over the title so I can see patented Cap moves used on the regular. I'm enjoying the title Captain America & currently and so doubling (and sometimes tripling) the Cap goodnes is something I cant complain about.

I think it was Captain America Marvel Knights drawn by Cassidy.

This picture makes me want to see the Falcon show up in the next Captain America movie.

Cap is more than peak human. The guy can dodge bullets in close range. As he explained it , he can see "faster".

One of the best little runs for the character ever, I think. When this came out in hardcover, I snatched it off the shelf.

It took Brubaker's initial run to bring me into the Cap fold. His Steve Rogers is a wonderful interpretation. I really felt for him in a variety of ways (esp. in the WS reveal), so when he "died" and Bucky became Cap, it just wasn't the same for me. The fact that Chris Evans has nailed Steve Rogers/Cap only makes me like the character so much more. I almost miss him in the WS ongoing ;)

I may start collecting the current run in trades and look into the Cap America &... series.
Wake me up when it's over...
