One of the things I really like in issue #30 is we get the first ever meeting of U.S. Agent and Bucky-Cap. That was a real fun moment to write.
Awesome!! Loooks fantastic. Loving this book.

Let's talk a little bit about the villain all those Avengers will be confronting, the mad Inhuman known as The Unspoken. He's a character that you co-created, but he also has a pretty strong connection to the history of the Inhumans, correct?

We haven't seen The Unspoken before, but he was king of the Inhumans before Black Bolt ascended to the crown. The Unspoken took the throne after Black Bolt's father, and some people are wondering why he hasn't appeared in Inhuman history before. It's because, well… he's been written out of it.
It's a retcon Slott, BB took the throne after his father.
You messed it up when you decided to connect him with the Inhuman royals, if he truly came out of nowhere and not have been connected to anyone in anyway it would've fit real nice but you messed it up when you dated the guy.

Based on what happened to U.S. Agent in "Mighty Avengers" #29 it looks like the Xerogen Mist turns people into Alpha Primitives?

The Alpha Primitives were actually created by the Inhumans' ancestors. Some of their best scientists and geneticists created the Alpha Primitives. Xerogen predates the Alpha Primitives and is something the Kree left along with Terrigen.

Xerogen allows the Inhumans to implant whatever kind of genetic code they want into it. It allows them to transform man into whatever they desire. In this case, they've taken the code of the Alpha Primitives and imprinted that code into the Xerogen crystals.
    Another retcon.....

Man i really feel sorry for the Inhuman (concept), people are flipping out over Magneto kneeling to Cyclops as a tremendous out character moment but that's nothing compared to the Inhumans getting something retconned almost every comic they appear in. It's ridiculous. At this point there's really no Inhuman continuity with so many changes being done in such a short time.

Well of course they're retcons...any time you introduce a "missing figure" or "hidden chapter" in anyone's life, it's a retcon. He's not saying it isn't. He's saying that, within the context of the Marvel Universe, this is the how/why of it.

he made a new thing. not a retcon. do we know every ounce of history, every second and step as to how the kree made the inhumans? and what they did to help their possible future? or who has ruled the inhumans since their start, or who has been left out of history?there are gaps, and new routes to explore and fill in. thats what this is, more back story. the whole point is they forgot him as punishment. happened with world leaders through out time. he added in something to make the history mysterious, you are really blowing it way up in every single forum about MA.

now... liked the interview. i am worried mighty is toast post 'siege'.
but i am glad slott said we would see pyms reaction to the big 3 coming together and his role and confidence coming into play. super excited for the rest of this comic, finite or infinite its time line may be.

wedding? pym/jocasta is implied but who knows. could be out of left field.

oh and wow phams art looks pretty cool in that preview, one page or not. i wonder if he will ink it him self? maybe all the hate he got on here made him step it up.

I didnt say that because he is a "missing figure" it's a retcon i said HOW he was introduced messed up the history creating a retcon. I even say in my post that if he would not have any connections to the Royals themselves and we would not have been told EXACTLY when he ruled his story would have fit fine.

God, I can't wait till Slott leaves this book. His writing is so mediocre and dull...

Even if the writing doesn't stack up to Watchmen or anything, I do think this book will be fun just from the perspective of seeing the Avenger teams fighting together. That would be cool.

The thing is that after Bendis left, they got not only a so-so writer, but artists that are frankly on the...um...crappy side?

Mighty Avengers should have an epic, majestic feel, worthy of the Avengers moniker, right? So why this horrible art that is anything but epic...the art just lies there on the page...no life, no dynamism...

I read MA, NA and DA and the only one that feels slight and unimportant and disconnected from the MU tapestry is MA, even if storylines and plot points converge, it still feels as if MA were the one book that isn't "in continuity", it's like a nice li'l elseworlds starring Slott's pet characters.

The threats all feel underwhelming and non-threatening, and it's like the book really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of Marvel

Slott is game and he has enthusiasm, but MA will always be an afterthought, especially compared to the events that happen in NA/DA and their weight in the overall MU landscape...

Yeah, your right. This arc with the Inhuman guy has been building up for quite awhile. I can't wait to see them bring the pain to this cat.

i know your feeling i wonder if its because Bendis writes both those titles and the events lately and has his team be the center of them, or if slott chooses to stand out from the events as a major player by choice.
we need a q and a slott thread and ask these things.

Can't wait... but he didn't mention Quicksilver even once ... I thought issue 31 or 32 was about Quicksilver reunion with the inhumans

It is interesting that Bendis has mentioned the Young Avengers and the Initiative during his talks about Siege... but to me recollection he hasn't mentioned MA (if I'm wrong about that, someone feel free to correct me).

It really does seem like that book is out there doing it's own thing. And that can be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on your perspective.
