Joe Q. is aksed if making a "deal with the devil" might seem more controverisal than a divorce.
Here is his answer:
Note that Joe doesn't get into the semantics, not once ever, that he is "a" devil, or anything the like. (as some fans do)Joe Quesada: "Perhaps if they conjured up the devil for selfish means, yes, but it's Mephisto who presents himself to them."
Over and over he refers to him as the devil.
He has explained hows, and whys of the story and how it simply makes sense for it all.
"Superior New Day" is temporary: but maybe Juggernaut can be the new She-Hulk! And Skeletor can be Battle Cat. Darth Vader can be Princess Leia in the new Superior Star Wars! Unleash the Whacken!
Link please?
Because I've read something VERY similar but he doesn't use the word 'devil' once.
And I'll actually quote my source as per the new rule #12.![]()
"Now, there are those that say, "but he made a deal with the Mephisto, how is that better?" I would at least see something in that statement if it was Peter who conjured up Mephisto. If Peter had no options and then proceeded to perform some ritual in order to invoke Mephisto, or in essence reached out to him as a last ditch effort, then yes, I would agree because now you're validating and saying it's okay to seek out the Mephisto guy to fix a problem. But, that's not what happened. It was Mephisto in this case, as he is prone to do, who comes to Peter at his weakest moment and uses this to his advantage. Why? Because he's a villain. This is a very important distinction, Peter is used by the bad guy, taken advantage of, and let me add it's not the first time a villain has taken advantage of him."
Now in that WHOLE quote he doesn't say 'devil' once instead using Mephisto's name.
here is the link...have fun![]()

'The marquis. Well, you know, to be honest, he seems a little bit dodgy to me.'
'Mm,' she agreed. 'He's a little bit dodgy in the same way that rats are a little bit covered in fur."
And yet in the comics and Marvel continuity, he still isnt.![]()
