Does it strike anybody else as odd that Diana is portrayed in a less sexualised manner in most bondage fan art than in professional Ed Benes JLA art?

'The marquis. Well, you know, to be honest, he seems a little bit dodgy to me.'
'Mm,' she agreed. 'He's a little bit dodgy in the same way that rats are a little bit covered in fur."
I don't see what the big deal is anyway. She was captured. By a gang of villains. Several of whom hate her personally and want to see her brought low. Of COURSE they would restrain her in a way that would degrade her. I really don't see why people blame the artist when he does something that makes so much obvious sense. And what's so "flak-worthy" of that pic anyway? She's chained up spread-eagle. Woopty-crap. It's not like Benes drew it like an upskirt shot or anything. "Here's Wonder Woman. And she's restrained and helpless. What else were you expecting?"
RIP Magog: He was unlikable: liked by no one, impossible to like. An unlikable loner (loser) who's passing shall not be mourned. SHALL. NOT. BE. MOURNED.
I think part of it was that in the previous issue Diana had been shown bound differently. I made the point at the time-or later I can't really remember-that the differences in bondage might have had some plot point in mind. In the issue just before this Diana is seated in a chair with a mask over her face. The transition was never explained in the comic though it seems easy enough to think away. At any rate Black Canary is really the one on display here. Also it is possible to show a heroine suspended and spread-eagled without it being provocative. This is a bit of an un-fair comparison but this shot of the Invisible Girl held captive shows that.

He draws her as an insanely beautiful woman who was designed by a group of goddesses, one of which is the Goddess of Love, Lust, and Sex, who is specifically credited with giving her her beauty. If you ask me, Benes is one of the most honest artists when it comes to portraying her as a highly desirable woman.

But his art does tend toward the erotic side. Still is this cover featuring the Huntress
more or less erotic than this one?
